PERFECTION

 

When we talk about number seven it refers to perfection in the Bible.  Once a person tried hard for the registration number of his vehicle to be 7 when summed up and he was willing to pay any price for it.  Such is the value of this number in the Bible.  God says: All your desires, expectations and shortcomings will be perfected this month.

 

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. Heb 6:1, 2

 

The above verse says only after observing all foundational doctrines we can move on unto perfection. We need to take several steps in order to access Heaven. Every Christian is going on in the path of perfection.  If some one can say he has attained the perfection he cannot live in this world as God takes such a person to Heaven. The first three points are together called Secular and the last four are grouped as Spiritual.  May God bless you to move on unto perfection when you meditate this message.

 

SECULAR BLESSINGS

1. Perfection in Goodness:

 

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Jam1:17;

 

Every gift is from God, the Abba Father (even the future blessings).  The Lord says, “You are going to receive a perfect goodness”.  You might have heard people saying, ”I achieved things with much effort”, “I had to undergo many hard ships to get hold of this job”.  But we need to confess, that it is only through God’s Grace and Strength I achieved this.

 

The Lord is going to perfect your blessing.  A cement flooring does not go well with a beautifully built house and it won’t be perfect.  A suit with a Hawaii slippers is not a perfect match.  Secular people opine a man is complete with his appearance and his perfect dress sense.  May God grant all your desires.  From today on, God is going to perfect all your secular blessings. Some people may argue, even worldly people are blessed as we do.  There is a difference.  When a Christian is blessed, he is blessed both externally and internally. His soul is prospered first and then all material blessings reach him. Though secular people are materially blessed, their soul is not living. This is the privilege of God’s people.

 

Prayer:  Father, bless me with all blessings to my satiation to the perfection.

 

2. Perfection in Economy

 

Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.  So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. Pro 3:9-10

For the perfection in our economy, we need to honour the Lord with our wealth.  Then our barns will be filled to overflowing and your vats will brim over with new wine.  There was no blessing so far since you have failed to honour the Lord in the right way.  When we honour God, He pours out the perfect blessings on us. Some save money in small bags, some mothers in kitchen vessels etc. But we should be aware of the secret of investing in the Lord (tithe, offering, supporting the ministry). I have witnessed many people in our Church who were faithful to the Lord in small level, and now they have good hike in salaries and are blessed abundantly.  Our God never lies or changes.  He will definitely fill your barns and vats.

 

So far bank people would have come to your house only to collect the bill but now on the bank manager will ask you to invest money in his bank.  This is the Lord’s doing.  He will not leave His children to suffer.  Even secular parents put much effort for their child to be the best in all areas.  If you then, although you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him. Many believers come to the church to give their tithes once they receive their salaries and such people are blessed by God abundantly.  In Israel we could see many rich fruits down on the ground and there will be no one to pick those fruits.  Such an abundant blessing God will pour out on His people.

 

Prayer:  Father, today I decide to honour You with my wealth and substance.  I believe, You have pronounced a blessing in all the work of my hands and filling my barns with plenty.

 

3. Perfection in the number of your days.

 

There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil. Exo 23:26

 

Once I gave a sermon on “long life”.  Immediately I received a phone call from a lady asking why she should have long life.  I explained her about its importance.  Such is the opinion of many.  When there is a blessing from the Lord, there will be perfection in the length of the days so that we may enjoy those blessings to the core.

 

There will be no graveyard for us.  We are going to fly with the Lord when He comes.  Some people look for the graveyard before going to a particular church.  They want to register for a graveyard.  Once a man had a long face (6 o’clock face) and was highly embarrassed.  I asked him for the reason and he managed to tell me that his Grand father died at the age of 60, his father at 50 and he is 39 so worried that he might die at 40. He decided that he will surely die but that was not God’s plan on him.  I explained him that once we got saved, we are freed from all the familial curses. As we no longer live according to the world, God commands a long life for us.

 

I read about an accident of a woman working in a school suddenly in the evening.  Such is the life temporary to the worldly people.  But the Promise of the Lord is whatever sickness, ailments, no matter what the specialist says about your condition, God is going to give you a perfect and full span of life.  I happened to speak with a familiar musician after a long time who played music for my wedding.  He said that he was playing music for four generations.  Likewise, in faith I say that I am going to pastor you for many generations, you along with your children and grand children will listen to my Sermon.  It is I who was paralytic when I was a youth speak to you. When the specialists said I cannot speak for the rest of my life the loving God miraculously healed me and enabling millions to hear my speech now.  It is the same God who do great miracles to you.

 

Prayer:  Father, pronounce the blessing of perfection in the length of days unto me.  Please enable me to serve you all of my days and live a healthy life.

 

SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS

 

4. PERFECTION IN GRACE:

 

And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. 2Cor12:9;

 

Lord’s strength is made perfect in this month.  Christ’s power is going to rest on you to receive strength and do all things perfectly. His strength is the proof of perfection in His grace.  Many of us feel sometimes that we have no strength to do things. In time of need God is promising His strength.  The Lord is giving perfection in health.  What are the things you complain of having no strength to do..? In your project, Lord is giving you strength to do… In your business, Lord is strengthening you… Just confess boldly that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. There should be no fear in us. Kindly do not neglect anything saying I cannot do it.  May the Lord be gracious to you in giving His Strength.  God has promised that He has given a new Grace and Strength this month. 

 

Prayer:  Father, Thanks for Your perfect Grace and Strength. I will do all things perfectly and I will glorify you all my days.

 

5. PERFECTION IN HOLINESS:

 

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2Cor7:1

 

We need to cleanse ourselves from everything that contaminates us.  You might not understand what you are doing. For you do not do what you want – instead, you do what you hate. Drunkards confess each day that he will not drink or touch the liquor next day.  Each day he will confess the same, but ended up drinking. Now if you do what you do not want, it is no longer you doing it but sin that lives in you.

 

The Lord God says Be Holy Because I Am Holy.  There are many situations where sins surround us.  In office tours, many unsaved people persuade Godly people to drink a little just for an enjoyment.  But many people have become drunkards after this incident due to their ignorance.  May the Lord preserve you and protect you from sinning against the Lord perfecting holiness.

 

Some people say Holy Spirit is given only to holy saints.  It is not true since Holy Spirit is given to every saved ones to lead a holy life.  He directs us very clearly to follow His Word and receive the blessing.  No matter how brutal the sins are in the world but we should have no trace of those sins in our lives.  We need to live like a fish in the sea water, no salt content in its body even though surrounded by salty water.  Once I met a brother who told me that he was nicknamed as D.G.S. in his office because of his holiness.  We need to have such a testimony in our lives too.

 

Prayer:  Holy Spirit, Enable me to pass onto perfection in holiness so that I may live a testimonial life in this world.

 

6. PERFECTION IN DOING GOD’S WILL:

 

Stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. Col 4:12

 

Here Paul says of Epaphras who prays fervently that the Colossians might be perfect in doing the will of God.  We should be prepared always to do God’s will. When we are saved, we need to take baptism for perfection.  The Greek word for Baptism is Baptizo which means “to immerse”.  There may be two kinds of kids in the same family: obedient and disobedient. And we should be the obedient child of God to do His will.

 

Prophecy:  This is what the Lord says, I am going to perfect everything in your life to do My will and your own eyes are going to see the perfection.

 

7. PERFECTION LIKE JESUS

 

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ. Eph 4:11-13

 

In order to make us perfect like Jesus, He has appointed ministers unto the churches.  The Lord has planted five kinds of ministries in the churches for our edification. He prepares us to be a perfect bride unto Him.

 

A bride needs a preparation to adorn herself for the marriage. Somebody will be helping her on that. She will be dressed up perfectly to stand along with the groom in order to make the marriage perfect. The five ministries planted in the church adorn us in order for the church to be His perfect bride (perfection in patience, humbleness, meekness, soft-spoken like Jesus).  A man of God said that we need to compare our patience, humbleness and all other good qualities with Jesus’. Only the period when both balance, we can boldly say we are a true Christian.

 

Prayer:  Lord, I submit myself unto you. Change me and mould me like you and make me fruitful.
