IF WE SEE JESUS

Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee. They will see me there.” Mat28:10

Jesus called His disciples to Galilee that they should see Him after His resurrection. They all obeyed and went there. If we were in this situation we could have been reasoning and asking He is a spirit why don’t He come here and why should I go there to meet Him? And then we will lose our heavenly blessings. When Jesus says something just obey do not be thinking logically. He is a wonder working God.  As the disciples were obedient, submitted and eager to see Jesus they went at once to Galilee. Even so today we are going to receive the blessings of Galilee as we have gathered here in this holy place to worship Him on His resurrected day.

1. Miracle:

Jesus said to them, “Children, you don’t have any fish, do you?” They replied, “No.” Jn21:5

Once Vedanayagam Shashtri Avl finished his ministry and came back home and asked his wife for a coffee. His wife did not come from the kitchen for a long time. He was angry and asked his wife, “Why she was delaying so much?” And his wife came from the kitchen with a glass and kept it upside down in the stool near him. He understood that there is no provision available in his house. So he went outside and staring at the heaven he shouted Oh Son of Mary How come this lack can be in your servant’s house? I am Your servant and I do your work. Within few hours a man came and delivered all the provisions needed for one month.

Jesus said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and lower your nets for a catch.” Simon answered, “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing! But at your word I will lower the nets.” When they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets started to tear. So they motioned to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats, so that they were about to sink. When we instantly obey at His word miracles happen.

In the holy land there is a particular fish called “Peter’s fish”. As per that day our lunch is Peter’s fish and finger chips. But they told they couldn’t find any fish that day and changed that menu. We were so upset as it is a special one though it is not very tasty as it a shallow fried not like the one we do (deep fry). After sometime they came and told they got so many fish and the menu is the same as per scheduled. We thought God did that miracle for us.

Prayer: Lord, I tried everything in my life to get forward. As you have said Lord, “Even young lions sometimes lack food and are hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. So do miracles in my life and let me lack any good thing. Amen.

2. Marvel:

When they got out on the beach, they saw a charcoal fire ready with a fish placed on it, and bread. Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. Jn21:9,13

Jesus is Al-mighty. He is a surgeon, orthologist, specialist in transplantation, plastic surgeon, created things from nothing, formed man out of dust, we can keep on saying about His specialties. When the disciples got out on the beach, they saw a charcoal fire ready with a fish placed on it, and bread. Jesus said, “Come, have breakfast,” Jesus knew that His disciples were hungry and made the food ready for them before they came. That  is the motherly care of Jesus, always mindful of His children.

Simon Peter went aboard and pulled the net to shore obeying the word of Jesus. It was full of large fish, one hundred fifty-three, but although there were so many, the net was not torn. What a wonderful God He is! When we obey Him we will see amazing and unbelievable things happen in our life.

Prayer: Lord, I come to Galilee to see You now do wonders for me.

3. Love:

Jesus said a third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed that Jesus asked him a third time, “Do you love me?” and said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus replied, “Feed My sheep. Jn21:17.

If a person asked the same question again and again how shall we respond? Imagine your higher official repeating the same question to you. You will be terrified and at one point of time you yourself will doubt whether the thing you say is true or not though it is true. Peter is in the same situation, his denial of Jesus might have come in his mind and created a doubt whether he loves Jesus or not. But as he repented about it he confidently said that Jesus Himself knows that he loves Him.

There is a place in the holy land where Peter denied Jesus, they have set a cock continually saying cock-a –doodle –doo all day long.

Let our love towards Jesus increase than any other worldly desires. So many have a desire to go to foreign countries. But I could definitely say there is no other country like India with the perfect climate. In India we have UVA rays controlled naturally but in USA they do not have such thing and those people has to use so many sun protecting factors and for us there is no need for that.

4. Gift:

Jesus replied, “If I want him to live until I come back, what concern is that of yours? You follow me!” So the saying circulated among the brothers and sisters that this disciple was not going to die. But Jesus did not say to him that he was not going to die, but rather, “If I want him to live until I come back, what concern is that of yours?” Jn21:22,23

People are not satisfied with what they have and they also have a comparative mind , always comparing with others. If you peep into others matter the result will be the one which Peter faced, a dishonor. 

God gave all the revelations to John for the sake of us. All the other disciples were martyrs (killed) but John after writing the revelation he died a natural death. Others did not have this kind of revelation. Today God is giving you a gift of “Long Life” Receive this gift.

Prayer: Lord, help me not to forget Thy teaching and let my heart keep Your commandments, for they will provide a long and full life, and they will add well-being to me as You have promised. Thank You Lord. Amen.
