SECRET OF JOSHUA'S VICTORY

The Lord was with Joshua and he became famous throughout the land.Jos6:27.

When the presence of the Lord is with someone he becomes famous. As of Joshua's life is considered, he was an obedient servant of Moses. Moses completed his ministry and died heading the Israelites half way to Canaan and delivered it to Joshua. Joshua needed more grace than Moses as of I studied. Because Moses left Joshua in the very important time of inheritance. Joshua forced the people and encourage them to occupy their inheritance by driving the people of that land out from before them and remove them, so that they can occupy their land as the Lord God promised them. For eg: He brought them to the land of the Amorites who lived east of the Jordan. They fought with them but he handed them over to them; they conquered their land and Joshua destroyed them from before them.God prepared Joshua in a way that he should be victorious. We are going to meditate four things of Joshua's victorious life.

God gave Joshua the grace to do all the things before he took charge after Moses, so that he could accomplish the work which was given to him successfully. We might also go through some troubles in attaining our success. Today God is going to prepare you to achieve your success going through the wilderness life. Joshua sets His mind only on God, he was in the state to say, "no matter what happens as the God of Hosts is with me". Even so today may the Lord prepare us.

PRONOUNCE:

After Moses the Lord’s servant died, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant: Jos1:1

We will never be weary if God's pronunciation is there. The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, the way a person speaks to a friend. The time of Moses was over and now is the turn of Joshua to lead His people. If you do not make "everyday hear the word of the Lord" as a habit you cannot lead a victorious life in this world. God speaks through His prophets, Bible, God's servants and in many ways and now I say the things which God speaks directly to you. When you walk hearing the Lord's word in your wilderness life you will have the strength to face it and you will succeed. The Lord will show you the way to get rid of that situation. But we need the gift of discernment to know who speaks to us.Sometimes our inner man speaks to us, sometimes a friend and sometimes devil.

The inner man is the conscience which trusts in itself and says to do something by itself and comes to a conclusion you can't do it. The inner mind might have told Joshua to by pass the Jericho wall but God told him to go through it so that this great miracle is being spoken even today. Joshua listened to God's word alone and went on. God, the captain of the hosts was guiding him all through his journey. The day when a person is not able to obey God's word that day is the day of his failure. The voice of the Lord is very important to lead a victorious life. Many listen to others and face failures but you will always have success when you listen to God.

Many people used to ask how can God keep on instructing them and lead them? God  lovespeak with people so that He created Adam. But the purpose of creating Adam went in vain when he disobeyed God's word and listened to his wife's voice. Gen3:17. God told Moses to prepare a tent of tabernacle to meet people. Exo30:38. But today He does not come and go instead dwells within us. Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? 1cor3:16. We are privileged more than Adam, Moses and Joshua. If He needs to talk with Joshua He comes as a God of hosts and then go off. But He is always with us to guide us by speaking to us. So do not worry if people do not speak with you.

When my father died my mother guided me but after her death when I was left without a guidance from my parents God was a direct guide for me. He spoke to me, "I am with you to guide you". After my father I had to take charge of this church. So I went and met Pr.SamSundaram to get counsel. He said, " I was in the same situation when Pr.Sundaram left this church to me". Even before he died in the sunday service the time he announces Pr.Sam Sundaram will give the God's message now, all the believers in the front row used to close the Bible and keep it down But God strengthened me and changed the situation afterwards." But for me by God's grace I did not go through such a difficult situation, instead the people sitting in the front row always used to encourage me till date.

God prepared and strengthened Joshua to lead His people into Canaan. The words of the Lord should always be ringing in your ears. And truly speaking we can hear a super natural voice. During the all night prayer we conducted on the night before super moon God said, "I am standing before you". Oh that day was an awesome day that many believers heard angels singing. Yes, that's true when we worship God, angels also worship along with us. For the human ears the sound is audible when it is only above a certain decimal level. Only when we get practiced to hear God's voice we can lead a victorious life.

Prayer: Lord, speak to me everyday. I have not heard your voice yet but I would really love to hear Your sweet sweet voice. And let it comfort me and brings me victory. Amen.

PROMISES:

I am handing over to you every place you set foot, as I promised Moses. Your territory will extend from the wilderness in the south to Lebanon in the north.  It will extend all the way to the great River Euphrates in the east (including all of Syria) and all the way to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. No one will be able to resist you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not abandon you or leave you alone. Jos1:3,5

God gives some promises over here. In this wilderness life so many things might come against you but nothing can stand against you. There is a reason behind the many promises given to Joshua. It was to strengthen him to overcome the situations. The Lord was with Joshua all through his journey. May the Lord give you the places where you tread upon as He did to Joshua. The Lord who spoke to Joshua will speak to you. Just  believe.

I remember, after my father bought this church land and built the church we needed the opposite land also to build our house but we did not have that amount of money. So my father said to the believers when you come to the church do not come through the road but walk through the vacant land opposite to our church praising God. And soon we were able to buy that land. This proves a faith life. God gives us the promises and we should use it by faith and inherit it.

Why do God gives us promises? When you go through some problem or cannot make a right decision we will remember the promises that strengthen us. He will do everything in the right time. God promises, "I have given you strength to pass through the wilderness life"". Do not look at the wall, only look at Jesus. When we went to Israel we were shown some dumbhell-like thing and was told it was the Jericho wall. Such a great wall were five to six chariots can pass at a time became nothing. Before Joshua faced the Jericho wall God strengthened him with  His promises.

Prayer: God , the things I have to face and conquer is more than a Jericho wall. I do not dare to face it. Strengthen me with Your promises O Lord.You are the Lord my God who goes before me to remove all the barriers and make a new way for me. Amen.

PORTFOLIO:

Be strong and brave! You must lead these people in the conquest of this land that I solemnly promised their ancestors I would hand over to them. Make sure you are very strong and brave! Carefully obey all the law my servant Moses charged you to keep! Do not swerve from it to the right or to the left, so that you may be successful in all you do. Jos 1:6,7.

Here God gives a portfolio to Joshua, the things which he has to do. When we went to the hollywood city we were taken to see the picturisation of the Red sea. We were standing in a place and infront of us it was like an ocean. When a lady pressed a button the ocean was divided into two and formed as a heap on both sides. We walked through that dry land and when we passed by she pressed the button and it became an ocean like before. When a man can do this why not God? May all the barriers in your life be removed automatically in the name of Jesus Christ. God says, "I alone know the plans I have for you and I will fulfill it". You don't have to worry about it.

PRACTISE:

This law scroll must not leave your lips! You must memorize it day and night so you can carefully obey all that is written in it. Then you will prosper and be successful. Jos1:8.

When we meditate and practice God's word we receive God's wisdom. When you decide to do it He will also fulfill all the other three promises in our life we meditated above. His word makes a fool wise. His words alone are sufficient. When the word comes the promises start working and we will easily inherit the plans He has for us. The wilderness life you go through will not be a wilderness anymore. It will be a fruitful garden when you meditate and practice God's word. 

It took 120 years for Moses to fulfil God's plan but Joshua did a double fold than Moses in just 110years. Joshua alloted protions for all the tribes, blessed them and sent them to enjoy their blessings and he closed his eyes victoriously. God says, " I am speeding up the process I have for you and is no more slow. God is for us till we accomplish the plans He has for us till then no one can touch you."

Prayer: Lord, speed up the process, plans to bring prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for. When I call out to you and come to you in prayer, You will hear my prayers. When I seek You in prayer and worship, I will find You available to me. If I seek You with all my heart and soul I will inherit all the blessings you have for me as I now know the secret of my success from Joshua's life. Amen.
