POWER OF YOUR WORDS

Only my servant Caleb, because he had a different spirit and has followed me fully – I will bring him into the land where he had gone, and his descendants will possess it.Num14:24.
 
The men whom Moses sent to investigate the land of Canaan, who returned and made the whole community murmur against him by producing an evil report about the land, those men who produced the evil report about the land, died by the plague before the Lord. But Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among the men who went to investigate the land, lived.Num14:36-38.

It is like a blind man touches the elephant's tail and said it is a rope, another blind man touches the elephant's trunk and said it is a pillar, another blind man touches the elephant's feet and said it is a fan and another blind man touches the male elephant's tusk and sais it is a horn. Each one described the elephant differently but that was not true. Thus those people gave report according to their own thoughts. Your life is based on the confession you make. Today we are going to meditate about the blessings of Caleb of Joshua by following the God faithfully, what are the bad reports given by the other people who spied out the same land and the reasons they failed to inherit the land and lost their lives.

JOSHUA AND CALEB WHO FOLLOWED GOD FAITHFULLY:

Today I am still as strong as when Moses sent me out. I can fight and go about my daily activities with the same energy I had then.Jos14:11

We should always confess hopeful words as the death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love its use will eat its fruit.Pro18:21. Many of us give reasons for our weaknesses, as the flesh is weak but the spirit is strong. If you follow the God faithfully you will have the same kind of strength and you will never loose your strength but He will increase your strength. So never be confessing you are weak.

Prayer: Jehovah Rophi, God of healer come and heal me and let your strength come down upon me. Many times I feel that I have no strength. So God strengthen me with thine divine strength spiritually and physically. I believe the God who strengthened Joshua is also able to strengthen me. Renew me with a new strength.

NEW BLESSINGS:

Joshua asked God to empower Caleb son of Jephunneh and assigned him Hebron.Jos14:13

So Hebron remains the assigned land of Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this very day because he remained loyal to the Lord God of Israel. Then the land was free of war. Likewise whatever you do you will prosper and you will see new blessings if you follow God faithfully as Joshua and Caleb did.

Prayer: Make me worthy to receive new blessings, the blessings I have never seen or heard before. Help me to follow you faithfully, Lord.

BLESSINGS OF NEW LIFE:

After all this Joshua son of Nun, the Lord’s servant, died at the age of one hundred ten. Jos24:29

An Era ends. God wants to give us a long life. Only if we have life we can enjoy the blessings which God gives. Even if you do not ask for long life He will satisfy you with long life as you follow Him faithfully. In certain areas we need to conquer like When you sit down to eat with a ruler,  consider carefully whatis before you, and put a knife to your throat if you possess a large appetite. One of the fruit of the Spirit is temperance and this is very important. When we overcome certain things we receive the blesings. Only two entered the land of Canaan and the Lord was watching over them to provide them victory. Let us meditate the things through which they conquer.

BAD REPORTS GIVEN BY THE OTHER SPIES

BUT:

They told Moses, “We went to the land where you sent us. It is indeed flowing with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. But the inhabitants are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. Moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there. Num13:27,28

Many people use the word "but" when they are visited of their health and wealth. When they came to the valley of Eshcol, they cut down from there a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they carried it on a staff between two men, as well as some of the pomegranates and the figs. Caleb said,“Let us go up and occupy it, for we are well able to conquer it.” But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against these people, because they are stronger than we are!”  they gave bad reports that they will not be able to conquer it. We should learn to appreciate others when they do something good. Many people cannot say the word "good" at all, to the most they can say "not bad". It is not like that learn to appreciate when they are alive and they will do better.

I have heard some good things from the apocryphal books.In the way there was a dead dog and it was stinking. Jesus and His disciples passed by that way and the disciples left from that place as fast as they could and they saw Jesus standing near that dog and was looking at it. They called Jesus to come back but Jesus told them that he was admiring the beauty of the dead dog's death. Eyes of man will only look at the shortfalls of others. Never use the word "but". We should be prepared to attain the goal. We should be careful about our words, never confess anything negative about you or your family.

Prayer: God, Help me look into the postitive things for the best of my life. I am not worried about the things which I have not received instead I praise you for all the blessings I have received so far.

UNDERESTIMATING THEMSELVES

But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against these people, because they are stronger than we are!” Then they presented the Israelites with a discouraging report of the land they had investigated, saying, “The land that we passed through to investigate is a land that devours its inhabitants. All the people we saw there are of great stature. Num13:31,32.

They were terrified looking at their outlook and they estimated themselves inferior to them. Humility is different from feeling inferior.We are always small and weak but the God who is in me is great. Jesus Himself says,"What is impossible for mere humans is possible for God.” Lk18:27.We cannot say "nothing is impossible for me"- that's a proud statement and it is a lie. Always say," Everything is possible for me with God on my side."

We were on a tour and they took us to visit hotel Atlantis, per day rent was 40,000 US$. I just thought, "God I am your servant Am I worthy only to visit this hotel, Can't I enjoy this. The very next year I was invited for a lunch in Hotel Atalantis in another country. what an awesome God He is to fulfil our hearts desire.

Prayer: Father, it is true that many time we underestimate ourselves forgetting the great God is on our side. Help me to think bigger and achieve bigger having you on my side.

SPREAD BAD REPORT:

Then they presented the Israelites with a discouraging report of the land they had investigated, saying, “The land that we passed through to investigate is a land that devours its inhabitants.out Num13:32.

Never spread a bad report. Last year I received an SMS saying that "Don Moen expired"- a false message. The great worshipper of God came to India and gave a great concert in India after that. You do not have the authority to send an authenticate news. Only few people have the gift of spreading good news but many people have the gift of spreading bad news(agents of whom?). The agents of God will be always careful that they should not be a stumbling block as they know those have a millstone waiting for them.Lk17:2.

Punishment for the person who was with the murderer during the murder will be given more punishment than the murderer. So if somebody speaks bad about others leave that place at once. We do not want to have a part in their curse.

DISCOURAGED:

Then all the community raised a loud cry, and the people wept that night. And all the Israelites murmured against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had perished in this wilderness! Num14:1

The entire congregation cried all through the night instead of praying hearing the bad report. Those men who produced the evil report about the land, died by the plague before the Lord. Prayer brings victory. Instead of murmuring and crying make your requests to God and confess positively and He will give you victory.

Prayer: Lord, forgive me for I have spoken many times negatively. Help me to think and speak positive words always.

TAKING A WRONG DECISION:

So they said to one another,“Let’s appoint a leader and return to Egypt.” Num14:4

In so many families even the children know to take a right decision but the parents don't. They do not have knowledge and they do not want to sit and get the right decision from God. Some people listened to others advice and leave their jobs, who is the sufferer? the whole family. Never leave your job till you get another one. Wait, till you get it. If you do not get another job, know that God is not allowing to shift from that place and wanted to teach you something.

Prayer: Lord, Help me to take a right decision.

OFFENDING GOD'S SERVANTS:

All the wrath of the congregation turned towards Moses and Aaron. They also offended God's servants in many ways as we saw above. But Joshua and Caleb made Moses happy and they followed God faithfully, received new blessings and the blessing of long life. Num14:5

Prayer: Lord, help us to be like Joshua and Caleb to receive the blessings from you. For all the people have seen Your glory and Your signs that You did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and yet have tempted You ten times, and have not obeyed You, and so they were not able to see the land that You swore to their fathers, nor that any of them who despised You saw it. Help us Lord, let us not do the same mistake they did and fail to inherit the blessing You have for us. Amen
