The Ways of the Lord (26/Dec/2010)
Today, we are going to meditate as to the ways of the Lord and how He is going to lead us in the forthcoming year.
Psalm 32:8 ‘I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.’
Our government has put highways across the country in order for us to go smooth and some of the toll roads in India are very good compared to other countries. If this earthly government can put such good highways, but our Lord would lead us in the most special way.
Haggai 1:5 ‘Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.’
We might be in a confused state or might have come thru narrow way till now, but God is going to make our ways broad. According to Psalm 18:32, ‘It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.’
The Lord will open a perfect way for us in 2011.
Enlarged Way
Psalms 18:36 ‘Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.’
The Government is enlarging the highways in order for a smooth traffic by destroying the shops and houses on both sides of the roads. So, if we go in this enlarged way, our foot will not slip. Likewise, God is going to command a broad way with no troubles or hurdles. It is a way that can bring relaxation. He will lead and enable us to go in this broad way.
Blessed Way
Psalms 128:1 ‘Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.’
God expects that we should walk fearfully before Him. It is not a just fear, but reverence to God. A person who respects God, his way would be blessed. He is going to lead us in a blessed way and others seeing us will say we are blessed. The Lord will not allow others to mock us. Our family will be a blessed family and all things in our family either small or big will be blessed. Even a flower in our house will be called a blessed flower. We are going to see Blessings in all walks of our life.
Protected Way
Psalms 91:11 ‘For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.’
He will command His angels to take care of us. If a VIP is visiting the city, police will not allow laymen to be out in the streets. Police will catch hold of them and give security to the VIP.
Our God will command His angels and lead us in a safe and protected way. God has called us to be victorious. When we are in a bus travel, the Lord would protect us and every one traveling in that bus would be protected for our sake. This happens when we obey His words. He will lead us in this way and we are going to see His Full protection.
Peaceful Way
Proverbs 16:7 ‘When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.’
We would have gone through so many troubled situations and peace-less ways until now, but in the forthcoming year, God is going to make everything peaceful. Jesus walked on the troubled waters and commanded peace. So no ways of satan will be present, if we obey the Lord faithfully and walk before Him righteously.
A Rest-filled Way
Jere 6:16 ‘Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.’
Some people who are new to the city might enquire the locals regarding the best way to a certain place and get misguided by the locals. We as Christians, need to enquire of the Lord for the place of rest for our soul, then, we would not be misguided. All our weary paths will disappear. In David’s period, we see war, but God commanded peace in Solomon’s period; so too for God’s children, 2011 is going to be a year of peace and rest.
