KNOW JESUS

( A message by our special guest preacher Pr. Joseph Balachandran, Madurai)

Key to success of our life is to know about Jesus Christ. Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! God had not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2Ti 1:7.

KNOW JESUS:

1.For a victorious personal life, family life and a social life.

2. To get a clear knowledge of the schemes of the devil that you may be able to stand against him.

3. Who am I in Christ?

Today we are going to meditate about the first one. There are no shortcuts to know about Jesus. Only way is to read the Bible prayerfully and should go to your spiritual church regularly. Know  "the Word" know "Jesus". Be a member of a spiritual church which teaches the right doctrine and be honest to your church in everything. That way we won't give opportunity for backsliding.
But what things were gain to me those I counted loss for Christ. Php 3:7. Atleast on Sundays make sure that you attend the church, as there is no gain without christ. Let us meditate about Jesus with the miracle of feeding of the 5000 with 5 loaves and 2 fish. This miracle is given in all the 4 gospels. Mat14; Mk 6; Lk9; Jn 6.

1) Lord of concern:

 And God will exalt you in due time, if you humble yourselves under His mighty hand by casting all your cares on Him because He cares for you. 1Pet5:7.

Even if mothers were to forget, I could never forget you!says the Lord. Isa49:15. He is more concerned about you and your children than you do.

2) Lord of compassion:

When He saw the crowds He had compassion on them because they were bewildered and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. - Mat9:36.

So Jesus was preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and sickness. If someone thinks he has the gift of healing so he could heal them, miracle will not happen. Do everything out of compassion with all humility of mind. Jesus never brings illness to His children. Just think, Will you punish your children with some disease to correct him? When humans with evil thoughts cannot do that how can God do it to you? How can He be happy seeing His children sufferring from any illness. So never say Jesus has given this disease.

3) Lord of orderliness and discipline:

God is not characterized by disorder but by peace. 1Cor14:33.

Jesus wants everything to be in order. When we see the miracle of feeding the five thousand with five loaves and two fish: He directed them all to sit down in groups on the green grass. So they reclined in groups of hundreds and fifties. Mark6:39,40. Our God wants our way of dressing, our house, our church, do everything in a decent and orderly manner.1cor14:40.

4) Lord of miracles:

He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. He gave them to His disciples to serve the people, and He divided the two fish among them all. They all ate and were satisfied. Mark6:41,42.

In the wedding of Cana in Galilee He had made the water wine.Jn2:7-10. See for more miracles by Jesus in Jn4,5chapters. He is the Lord of miracles. Husband and wife, when you get the salary keep it infront of Jesus and pray for the blessings. Firstly, take out the tithes (which belongs to God) from it and give it to the spiritual church where you take communion without any delay. With the remaining money, plan accordingly and spend. Be sure you will eat and satisfied.

5) Lord of abundance:

They picked up the broken pieces and fish that were left over, twelve baskets full.Mark6:43.

Set your hope on God who richly provides us with all things for our enjoyment.1Tim6:17.He gives money to enjoy. So amny people are very stingy and do not even spend money to buy proper food. Where are you going to take your money? Savings is a good habit but stinginess is the worst thing. Only if you live you can enjoy your savings, if you do not eat proper food how will you have a long life? So eat well and give your children good nourishment. Dress properly not for luxury but for descency sake.

6) Lord who doesn't like nothing to be wasted:

When they were all satisfied, Jesus said to His disciples, “Gather up the broken pieces that are left over, so that nothing is wasted.”- Jn6:12.

Jesus does not like to waste time, money, food etc; He wants you to spend but not luxuriously. Save for your future, your children's education, marriage etc. That is all basic needs and a wise thing to do. If Joseph wouldn't have saved food for the years of famine everyone would have died. Gen41:49. At the same time he gave good food for the people in the plenteous years. Gen41:54. Proof: It says that people came to Pharoah for food only after the famine started. Give 1/10th to the church and spend the remaining 9/10th in the fear of God. Do not despise the poor Jam2:6. Do not hide your face from them, give them food.

7) Lord of reward:

For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love you have demonstrated for his name, in having served and continuing to serve the saints.Heb6:10.

Do you think God has forgotten your petitions? You might forget about your prayer requests but he won't. He says, whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple, I tell you the truth,He will never lose his reward.” Whatever you do whether small or great, Watch out,  you do not lose the things we have worked for, but receive a full reward.2Jn1:8. Whatever you are doing, work at it with enthusiasm,as to the Lord and not for people, because you know that you will receive your inheritance from the Lord as the reward. Serve the Lord Christ.Col3:23,24.
