God who breaks barriers
God who breaks barriers
Micah 2:13 'The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them,
and the LORD on the head of them.'
The above promise verse confirms that the Lord will break all our hindrances and he will go before us. The Lord's hands will be with us to overcome all the challenges
we are facing in our lives. In the Bible, the Lord has miraculously removed all the barriers in many given situations and led his children. In Exodus 3:10 'Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou
mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.' Here we read the Lord sent Moses to deliver the children of Israel. Moses might have assumed that the
process of driving the people out of Egypt might be simple as he was sent by the Lord himself. But the same Lord who sent Moses hardened the heart of Pharaoh. We also
read in Exodus 3:12 the Lord gives Moses a confirmation amidst of the barriers. Furthermore we read in Exodus 3:14, the Lord clarified all the doubts of Moses and shows
the way in which he should walk in his life. Also in Exodus 4:2, the Lord shows his miracles in advance to Moses. The Lord also explains Moses about the mindset of
Pharaoh and prepares him on how to handle the situation. The Lord also sends Aaron along with Moses as a support in his task. Overall the hands of the Lord was with Moses
and broke all the barriers. As part of today's meditation let us meditate on how the Lord removed the barriers of Israelites and guided them.
God who removes distress
Exodus 5:19 'And the officers of the children of Israel did see that they were in evil case, after it was said, Ye shall not minish ought from your bricks of your
daily task.'
In the previous chapter, the people of Israel beleived that the Lord heard their prayers and they began to worship the Lord (Exodus 4:31). Unfortunately in the next
chapter we see they are into a state of distress. Although the Lord sent Moses to deliver his children yet they faced this situation. The people of Israel might have
wondered why they are facing distress in the plan of the Lord. During this situation, the Jehovah Lord began his work. All these while they have not experienced the
miracles of Jehovah. In Exodus 6:2 'Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with
a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land. And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD.' The Lord sends his divine deliverance to remove the
distress of his children. When the Lord removed the distress of Israelites, all their oppressions were changed. They were asked to leave the land as soon as possible. We read in Exodus 12:33 'And
the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men.' The Lord brought a great deliverance
in the time of distress. Even in our lives, we might face situations of distress and we find difficult to cope. The Lord says amidst of distress we shall see the work
of the Lord Jehovah.
God who sets apart
Exodus 8:22 'And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that
I am the LORD in the midst of the earth.'
Over here we see the Lord brings in plagues as a part of his divine plan to deliver his children. But he sets his people apart by protecting them from plagues. The Lord
is a Lord who protects his children from evil things. The Lord will remove the distress, breaks the barriers and sets his children apart. In the passage, we read the
Lord sets apart the land of Goshen. We read in Proverbs 12:21 'There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.' We the children
of the Lord who are righteous will be protected and no evil will harm us. The Lord protects us from all forms of dangers. Whatever we do, we should stand apart and it
should be special. The Lord will give us grace that we will stand apart in a special way in our family, work and business. We need to beleive that the Lord is with us,
trusting that he will set us apart. We read in Exodus 9:25-26 'And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and
the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field. Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.' The Lord
sets the land of Goshen apart from others. Not only the people but also the domestic animals in the land were also protected. The livestock of God's people was preserved.
The Lord will set us apart from everything and the work of our hands. But we need to submit all the glory and the honour to the Lord alone. By setting us apart the Lord
will prove that he is the Lord. We read in Exodus 10:23 'They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel
had light in their dwellings.' When the entire land of Egypt was filled with darkness the Lord gave light in the houses of his people. The Lord made his people feel
so special and belonged as they were set apart. We read in Exodus 12:23 'For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel,
and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.' The Lord will guide us and
will protect us from the destroyer. The Lord will set us apart and he will ensure nothing harms us.
God who multiples wonders
Exodus 11:9 'And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.'
In the above passage, we see the Lord predicts the state of mind of Pharaoh. The Lord says the heart of Pharaoh will be hard even after witnessing miracles in his land.
The same Lord who sent Moses also hardens the heart of Pharaoh. The Lord wanted his children to witness miracles. He wanted to show them the work of the living God. The
Lord multiplied his wonders. We read in Exodus 11:7 'But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know
how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.' We see the Lord will ensure that no one shall move their tongue against us. When we are given
into distressful situations, we need to beleive that the Lord will work out his miracles. The Lord will remove the barriers and he will multiply his wonders for his
children. Amen.
