Steadfast in God

 Steadfast in God

Isaiah 26:3 'Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.'

Our Lord is the Lord who give us his perfect peace when we hold onto the Lord. We need to be steadfast in the Lord to receive the blessings from the Lord. Mnay of
us are steadfast in the beginning but they will give up later. Today, we need to make a resolution that we will be steadfast in the Lord at all times. When we do so
the Lord will give us his strength to overcome our problems. As a part of meditation, let us see how we can be steadfast in the Lord.

Steadfast in remembering God's works

Psalm 78:7-8 'That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments: And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and
rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.'

In this life of wilderness, the Lord has given us certain examples of the lives of our forefathers. The Bible records not only the victories of Israelities but also
records their failure and issues they had in their journey. As recorded in the above passage, the reason why they were not steadfast in the Lord is because they
have forgotten the works of the Lord. Even in our lives, we the children of the Lord should never forget the works of the Lord. If possible, we need to write the
blessings and goodness we received from the Lord. When we think of the miracles in our lives, we can hold onto the Lord steadfastly knowing that he who led us this far
will lead us forever. The people of Israel failed to recount the blessings and works of the Lord. The first step in backsliding is when we forget the works of the Lord.
The people of Israel had forgotten the Lord who parted the Red sea and they wanted to return to the land of Egypt. When we forget the works of the Lord, we will lose
the experience of being steadfast in the Lord. Therefore, let us pray that the Lord give us grace to remain steadfast in the Lord.

Steadfast in early trust

Israel 3:14 'For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end'

The above verse emphasizes on being steadfast in the early trust. In our lives when we are given in circumstances, we might face some challenges in the steadfast we
have had in our early times. We need to analyze if we have the same reverence that we had in our early days. When we remember the love of the Lord, our devotion and
love should increase. In Revelation 2:4 'Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.' The Love concering our family, the love
concerning our church and the love of the Lord should not be decreased at any cost. Today, we need to think about the early love and faith we had on the Lord God. What
is the current state? Has it increased or decreased? We read in Luke 18:8 'Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?' In the end of times, the love will fade
away and there will be a lack of love for one another. If we are not steadfast in the love of the Lord, we cannot be partakers of Christ.

Steadfast in confession

Hebrews 4:14 'Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.'

We need to be steadfast in our confessions. Our Lord Jesus who has ascended has called us for a great purpose as we read in Hebrews 3:1 'Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of
the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus.' When we look into the life of Jesus, he kept on confessing that he does not
belong to this world. In Philippians 3:14 'I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.' Here Paul has written this for us and wanted
us to do this confession. We need to confess calling that we are called for the prize of the high calling. The Lord gives a heavenly calling to his children who dwells
on the earth. In Hebrews 11:16 'But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for
them a city.' The Lord has called his children for a heavenly country and he is preparing them. We read in Hebrews 12:22'But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the
city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels.' The heavenly one called us with a heavenly calling for a heavenly country
to take us to heavenly Jerusalem. When we are steadfast in remembering his goodness, early trust and confession, he will grant us perfect peace and protect us. Amen.
