Truimphal Entry

 Truimphal Entry

Matthew 21:9 'And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord;
Hosanna in the highest.'

Here we see Jesus gave a truimphal entry into Jerusalem. The people who were gathered there welcomed him and cried out saying 'Hosanna'. The word Hosanna would refer
to 'Oh save' or 'Help us now'. This word is also recorded in Psalm 118:25 'Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.' Even in
Luke 2:14 we read the same words used to glorify Jesus at his birth. This event of Jesus entering into Jerusalem has been recorded in all the four gospels. (Matthew
21:1-17, Mark 11:1-11, Luke 19:29-40, John 12:12-19). We see the people welcomed Jesus holding palm leaves with full of joy and they glorified him. We read in John
12:13 'Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.' This act of
welcoming Jesus using palm leaves is found in Old testament as well as new testament (I Kings 6:29 and Revelation 7:29). Early christians believed that this represented
God's goodness and victory. The last week of Jesus's ministry started with this incident. Since the days of their captivity in Babylon during the reign of King Zedekiah,
Israelites felt that they were not governed by Jewish kings. They looked up to every child born in the royal lineage if they would become the King. As Jesus was born
royal lineage as son of David so they expected him to become the King. When people heard that Jesus is entering Jerusalem in a royal fashion, they welocomed him joyfully.
Today, let us meditate on the works that King Jesus son of David did for them on that day.

Instruction

Matthew 21:1 'Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto
me.'

When Jesus was entering into the land of Jerusalem, he had a burden in his heart. He wanted to fulfill the purpose and will of his father to reveal himself as a King.
Jesus called two of his disciples and gave them the correct direction. He instructed them to go to the village opposite to them. In this event, Jesus gave a clear
instruction to his disciples. We see Jesus did not inform all his disciples that he needed a donkey. He calls two disciples in specific and gives them clear instructions. In
this world, we might receive a lot of advises/instructions. We the children of God should pay heed to the instructions given by the spirit of God. Those two disciples
deserved the call of Jesus and they were handpicked by Jesus to fulfill his work. Even in our lives, our Lord Jesus should call us spcifically and reveal his vision.
Jesus knew his time is running out and he wanted to use his final days to fulfill the desire of his father. Those two disciples, did not question Jesus, they did not
use any shortcuts or advised Jesus with alternate plans. They fulfilled the word of the Lord just as they received without any deviances. We the children of God
should hear and do according to the instructions that the Lord is giving us. We should not take the will of the Lord for granted. Let us not stumble upon the deviations
brought by Satan. We need to pray earnestly that we fulfill the will of the Lord and act according to his instructions.

Information

Matthew 21:3 'And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.'

Here we see Jesus not only instructs them but also informs them about what will happen in the village. Jesus gives a clear revelation and informes them in advance. Our Lord will inform
certain revelations to his children. The divine revelation of the Lord will guide his children. In Mark 11:2-3 'And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over
against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him. And if any man say unto you, Why do ye
this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.' In this verse, we can understand how Jesus explains the whole incident in detail
and informs them what they need to do and speak there. Even in our lives, the Lord God will give a clear information concerning certain things. The Lord must also
have spoken to the person in charge of the colt to give it away when he meets two disciples. The disciples of Jesus as well as the person in charge of the colt fulfilled
the will of the Lord. They obeyed to the word of the  Lord. Even today, the Lord expects us to obey and submit to his informations and revelations.

Injunction

Matthew 21:5 'Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.'

In the above passage, we can see a proclamation from the heaven. It was told them saying the King is coming. This is more or less like an injunction where they receive
a confirmation that he is the king you are expecting. The same Jesus who they thought was the son of a carpenter is their new king. We read in I Kings 1:33 'The king
also said unto them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring him down to Gihon:' We also read in Bible,
that Solomon came riding on the mule when he was chosen to be a King. Here in new testament we can see Jesus travelled on the Donkey. Jesus made the truimphal entry
not to deliver the people from Roman bondage but from a bondage of sin. There were times where Jesus will not reveal himself a King as he had certain things to
accomplish in his ministry. But now Jesus revealed himself as a King in front of his children. Even in our lives, the power of Jesus the King will reveal in our lives.
We the children of God will experience the power of the King, when we proclaim the name of the Lord.
