God is my strength

 God is my strength

Habakkuk 3:19 'The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.'

The above verse we can read that Prophet Habakkuk states that God is his strength and the strength of the Lord makes his feet like hinds feet. The word 'Strength' is
derived from the Hebrew word 'Khahyil' which means force. The strength of the Lord is a driving force which makes his children to carry out many things in their lives.
As a part of today's meditation let us meditate on the instances where the word 'Strength' has been mentioned and how the strength of the Lord enforced its duty in
certain places in the Bible.

Ability

Exodus 18:21 'Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers
of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.'

Here we can see the people were chosen based on their ability. The word 'ability' in the verse is also derived from the Hebrew word Khahyil. We can see the strength of
the Lord was with Israelites which made them skillful. The Lord chooses people with no abilities and makes them able and qualified.Let us not say that we do not have
any abilities to do certain things. In this new year the Lord almighty will provide us the skillset we need in our lives. If God has given us certain abilities and skills
we need to use that for the ministry of the Lord. In the new testament, the leaders in the ministry were chosen based on these spiritual qualities. This we can read in
Acts 6:2-3 'Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.' May we use our talents
for the Lord. Further when we read in I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9, we can understand that the Lord has blessed people with cartain talents and he uses them for his
ministry.

Nobility

Ruth 3:11 'And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.'

The word 'virtuous' or noble comes from the Hebrew word Khahyil. The Lord gives us nobility in the form of his strength. If we want to be noble, we need to the strength
of the Lord. Nobility signifies the good charateristics we find in a person which reflects his whole personality. We need God's strength to give us ability and nobility.
Both should go hand in hand. In Acts 3:19 'Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the
presence of the Lord.' As recorded in this verse repentance and being renewed is one of the predominant elements of doctrines. Unless we keep renewing ourselves and
repent, we cannot get into the depths of spirituality. Also we read in Proverbs 12:4 'A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband.' A virtuous woman is someone who has
kind attritubes and qualities in her. It is very important that we have noble attitudes and kind gestures in the society. We the children of the Lord should reflect
Christ in our behaviours. Our nobility should become an example and testimony to others.

Valour

I Chronicles 26:8 'All these of the sons of Obededom: they and their sons and their brethren, able men for strength for the service, were threescore and two of
Obededom.'

The word 'able with strength' comes from the Hebrew word Khahyil. The strength of the Lord give us valour. In the scripture we can see the men of Valour guarded the
temple of the Lord. As recorded in this verse, the sons of Obededom acted as a men of valour for the ministry of the Lord. We read in I Chronicles 13:13-14 'So David
brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite. And the ark of God remained with the family of
Obededom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obededom, and all that he had.' The ark of the Lord rested in Obededom's house and the presence
of the Lord brought a reverence in the family. Each and every member in the house of Obededom served the temple of the Lord. The children served the Lord God just like
their father. When we do something for the Lord, his strength will descend upon our generations and will enable them to serve God as a mighty men of valour. Amen.
