Divine Exaltation

Divine Exaltation

Daniel 1:19-20 'And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king.
And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all
his realm.'

In the above passage we can see that read that the Lord has exalted his children. As recorded in Daniel 1:7, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah whose names were
changed to Belteshazzar, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed Nego were exalted by the Lord. These verses stands as a proof that how the Lord exalts his children. In this
case we can see they were exalted to an extent where they stood before the King. The Lord has also made them pioneers in their field by giving them matchless wisdom.
The Babylonians learned about the wisdom of the children of the Lord. Interestingly, the divine exaltation were given to them when they were held as captives in a
strange land. Same way, Our Lord is able to exalt us his children at any given situation. When we are truthful to the Lord, no power can suppress our exaltations.
As a part of today's meditation, let us meditate on how the hands of the Lord dealt with these four people before they were exalted in their lives.

God's will

Daniel 1:1 'In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.'

In the above passage we can see Nebuchadnezzar the King, besieged Jerusalem. It was more or less a locked up state where the entire city of Jerusalem was bound. The
people were not not in a position to understand the situation as their daily routines came to a halt. This was the exact situation where they surrendered to the will
of the Lord and also waited for the Lord's will to be fulfilled. Today, the Lord will bring in a change were we submit ourselves to the will of God amidst of our
problems. We read in Daniel 1:2 'And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land
of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.' From this verse we can see the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah and
some of the articles of the temple into his hands even after they submitted to the will of the Lord. The people were captivated, their vessels were taken away but they
did not question God. They did not know why all these things are happening but later they came to know the reason why God allowed these things. Even in our lives, we
can never understand why certain things are happening to us. During those problematic situaions, the Lord expects us to submit ourselves into the will of the Lord.

God's plan

Daniel 1:4 'Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability
in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.'

Here we can see the plans of the Lord is being fulfilled. Even though they were besieged and given into the hands of the Babylonians, the plan of the Lord is getting
fulfilled. The verse clearly points out the qualifications needed to stand in the presence of the King. The Lord designs the rules in such a way it matches to these
four people. The required qualifications were tailor-made to them. They might have thought their lives are finished the moment they were taken as captives. But the
plans of the Lord started the moment they were besieged. The Lord has planned to use these four people in the right place and in the right way. The call of the King
came in search of these four people. Even in our lives, the Lord has devised plans exclusively for us. We must pray for the plans of the Lord to be fulfilled in our
lives. We read in Daniel 2:47 'The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets,
seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.' During the times of opposition, the Lord will work out things in such a way that the name of the Lord gets manifested.
When we get a new opportunity, we need to surrender ourselves to the will of the Lord. We need to submit ourselves to the will of the Lord to witness his plans getting
fulfilled in our lives. It is also important that we discern the plans of the Lord and have an understanding heart to accept his plans.

God's grace

Daniel 1:9 'Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.'

We can see as a result of their submission to Lord's plan and his will, they were given grace. The Lord made them to find favour and tender love in a strange land. The
Lord honoured Danielto receive favour and goodwill from pagans in a foreign land. The people around them marvelled at them. Once they were besieged and suffered now they
were honoured. We read in Daniel 3:6 'And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.' We can see they
faced temptations like Lion's Den and fiery furnace in their lives. But still they were able to overcome by the strength of the Lord. The Lord is a Lord who changes
the situations. Whether they were in Babylon or Jerusalem, the Lord was faithful enough to deliver them. Even in our lives, we need invest on the Lord God who is our
deliverer. The hands of the Lord was with the four of them and led them with his divine grace. In every situation the Lord delivered them. We read in Psalm 91:15 'He
shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.' The Lord honours his children who are faithful to him.
Therefore, let us all submit ourselves into the presence of the Lord by surrendering to the Lord's will. May his plans be fulfilled in our lives and we will given his
divine grace in our lives. Amen.
