Word of the Lord to Moses and the Israelities

Numbers 11:23 'And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD'S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.'

Here the Lord speaks to Moses and the people of Israel. The Lord says 'Is the LORD'S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee

or not'. When the Lord tells certain things, he will not forget it. The Lord will not give lame excuses but he will surely fulfill it. The Lord said to the Israelities

'and ye shall eat flesh'- in Numbers 11:18 and he has fulfilled the same. Many of God's answers will appear as questions to us and that is exactly what is recorded

in Numbers 11:23. The Lord desired to prove to Israelites and to Moses that nothing is impossible by him. We presume that God might have been enraged when Moses and

the Israelities were filled with questions and unbelief and which is why the Lord said 'Is the LORD'S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come

to pass unto thee or not'. Today, we might be facing a lot of difficult situations in our lives, but we need to believe that everything is possible by the Lord God.

Let us discuss what the hands of the Lord did to the people of Israel.

God's Goodness

Numbers 11:4 'And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?'

In the above verse we read that Israelities questions as to who will provide them flesh to eat. They started to cry concerning this. The Lord drove them out from the

land of Egypt,took them out from bondage and did many miracles for them but they were ungrateful. The people of Israel kept whining about something and they forgot

all the goodness that they received from the Lord. In the above verse, we can see mixed multitude among the people of Israel started to spread unwanted questions and

infuriated Israelites to cry over the food. Having our God who has led them so far, they should not have wept over food and asked who shall deliver them from this

situation. And this was the reason behind the Lord asking Is the LORD'S hand waxed short? Even in our lives, we need to ve vigil and cautious on people who try to

infuriate us. Let us not give room for undue influences which will eventally turns us into questioning the Lord.

We read in Numbers 11:5 'We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:' The

Israelites started to recall their lives in Epgypt and listed down the foods they used to have in the land of Egypt. In Numbers 11:6 'But now our soul is dried away:

there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.' We see they reminisced about their past life and began to think it was way better when compared to their

present life. The Israelites not only were influenced by other people but also started to live in their past. Old memories and thoughts will always restrict us from

enjoying our future. We the children of God should never get carried away by any changes in our lives and we need to beleive in the word of the Lord. We need to count

the blessings of the Lord and should be grateful. The goodness of the Lord is perpetual and it will follow us till eternity.

God's Power

Numbers 11:21 'And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole

month. Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?'

Here we can read Moses speaks certain things practically. Moses begins to speak on the practical difficulties in the present situation. Moses who has seen and heard

everything from the Lord right from the beginning has failed to believe in the word of the Lord. Having seen the Lord's pwer in the land of Egypt, Red sea and many

other instances, he still could not believe that the power of the Lord will overcome this situation. The Lord used this opportunity to increase the faith of Moses.

Even in our lives, we may not have the ability and skill to overcome certain things but the power of the Lord can prevail over anything. We need to believe in the

power of the Lord. We read in John 20:29 'Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet

have believed.' More than believing after witnessing the miracles of the Lord, let us start to believe even before witnessing them.

God's Glory

Numbers 11:31 'And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side,

and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.'

We see the Lord started to work out a miracle. We read a wind came from the Lord and supplied the needs of the Israelites. When Moses and the people of Israel could

not believe, the power of the Lord was revealed. The Lord made the impossible possible. The Lord revealed his glory by using the nature. The Lord can use wind, water,

a fish, a donkey or anything to work out a miracle. When read the above passage, we can see the wind went out from the Lord which brought quails from the sea.

The journey of the wind started from the Lord and then went to collect quails sea from the sea and then reached the camp site. The glory of the Lord worked out in

such a way which was beyond the imagination of a man. The same supernatural glory will work in our lives when we are grateful and believe in the power of the Lord.
