Word of the Lord to Moses
Exodus 4:28 'And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.'
The Lord God had a great plan concerning the people of Israel and he revealed it to them through his servant Moses. In the above passage, we see Moses explains Aaron
what the Lord God spoke to him. As soon as Moses conveys theses things to Aaron, they both gathered all the elders. This we read in Exodus 4:29 'And Moses and Aaron
went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel.' We see Moses and Araon without any delay, they immediately began acting upon receiving the word
of the Lord. Initially, Moses was a little hesitant when he heard the word of the Lord. We read in Exodus 4:1 'And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not
believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee.' Moses was seen arguing with the Lord and he did not know if he is able
to excecute the plans of the Lord. In order to strengthen Moses, the Lord gave him Aaron. We the children of the Lord should believe the Lord will give us strength to
fulfill the commands of the Lord. Let us meditate how the word of the Lord came to Moses and how it assisted and blessed the people of Israel.
God knows
Exodus 3:7 'And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know
their sorrows.'
Here the Lord speaks to Moses on afflictions of his people. The Lord confirms that he is fully aware of their sorrows and he wanted to bring in a redemption to the
people of Israel. In Exodus 3:9 'Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians
oppress them.' The cry of the children of Israel reached the Lord God. The word of the Lord conveys to Moses that he has seen the oppression, heard their cry and knew
their sorrow. Even in our lives, our Lord is watching our lives closely and he knows what we are going through. The Lord also knows how to help us out with our troubles
and he will deliver us.
God descended
Exodus 3:8 'And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land
flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.'
We see the Lord Almighty came down for the people of Israel for his people. In verse seven, the Lord saw the afflictions of his people and he descended in the very
next verse. The Lord came down to rescue the people of Israel and also to take them to the next level. This was a sheer reward to the cry of his people. We see History
cannot understand the reward of a praying man but a praying man creates history and the world will know the power of God's people. Prayer should be our weapon to
battle our problems in our lives. The Lord changed their baondage and gave them liberty. The Lord descended for two things, to deliver and to take them to the next
level. The Lord desired his people to inherit the place prepared for his children. The Lord descended to 'remove' them from Egypt and to bring them into a vast land.
Even in our lives, the Lord will descend to fulfill our plans and to take us to the next level. Our Lord will take us from drought to prosperity and he will command
an expansion in our lives.
God will be with us
Exodus 3:12 'And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of
Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.'
In the above passage the Lord speaks to Moses and confirms that he will be with him. The Lord promised to be with Israel. We read in Exodus 3:11 'And Moses said unto
God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?' Previously, Moses was filled with apprehensions to
carry out the things of the Lord. We see the Lord strengthened Moses to drive his people out of the land of Egypt. According to this verse, the Lord was with Moses,
the sign that God sent him was that they will return from Egypt to Sinai and worship God there. We the children of the Lord should have an immense faith that we will
be able to carry out the things by the strength of God.
God will bring abundance
Exodus 3:21 'And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty.'
We see the Lord enabled his people to find favour in the sight of the Egyptians. This was the act of the Lord bringing abundance in their lives. As recorded in the
verse, the people of Israel did not come out empty handed. All these things were predestinated as we read this in Genesis 15:14 'And also that nation, whom they shall
serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.' The prosperity of Israel was predestined. Everything has been preplanned and unfolds
according to the words of the Lord. The people of Israel might have thought they will be slaves forever but little did they know thet the Lord is going to send Moses
to redeem them from bondage. The Lord who redeemed the people of Israel is alive today to bring in an deliverance in our lives. The Lord who knew us will descend to
take us to the next level. Amen.
