Miracles at the last moment -11

Introduction II Kings 3:1 ‘Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years.’, II Kings6:24 ‘And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria.’ Benhadad King of Syria laid siege to Samaria. Sometimes undesirable things happen. We need to examine ourselves in those situations. Why did the king lay siege to Samaria? II Kings 20:1 ‘And Benhadad the king of Syria gathered all his host together: and there were thirty and two kings with him, and horses, and chariots: and he went up and besieged Samaria, and warred against it.’ Benhadad the king of Syria had already once laid siege to Samaria in the days of Ahab, the father of Joram. 1Kings 20:42 ‘And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Because thou hast let go out of thy hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore thy life shall go for his life, and thy people for his people.’ Ahab did not do to Benhadad what God desired and decided to set him free. Thus, the same Benhadad came back to lay siege to Samaria in the days of Ahab's son Joram. Ahab's merciful nature hindered him from doing what God had desired. This resulted in his son facing the same affliction - affecting the next generation. Let us completely surrender in doing God's will. God's Miracle in various situations 1. II Kings 6:25 - Miracle amidst great Famine. II Kings 6:28, 31 - Anger arose against the innocent. We must stay in God's presence, examining ourselves in knowing who is causing trouble. 2. II Kings 7:1 - Miracle amidst the Impossible. II Kings 7:2 - "And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof". Our thoughts, words and actions need to be faith-filled. Gen 24:50 - we cannot speak unto thee bad or good. Even if we cannot believe it, it is best not to say anything. II Kings 7:18 - If God speaks, it will come to pass. 3. On hearing the mighty noise, they ran away thinking the Hittite and the Egyptians are going to attack them. God gave them an unbelievable victory. 4. II Kings 7:12 - Miracle beyond Comprehension. We might have thought that things would end a certain way. Our mindset needs to change. Isa 55:8 - our thoughts are not His thoughts. Let us expect a miracle even in the last moment.
