The Lord Almighty-8

 Introduction

Genesis 17:1-2 “And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.”

            Over here we see that the Lord God introduces himself as an Almighty God. The Hebrew word ‘Elshaddai’ would mean the Lord almighty. In the above passage we see the Lord who is an almighty God makes a covenant to Abraham. Here our Lord promises to bless Abraham in a multiplied manner. The hands of the Lord almighty blessed the entire generation of Abraham. Even in our lives, the almighty will remove all the hindrances and bless us. We the children of God will experience the power of the almighty in our lives.

Numbers 24:4 ‘He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:’ Here we see the Lord almighty opens the eyes of Balaam. Same way our Lord will give us visions. When we have divine visions, we will be in a position to see and understand things that are not possible by normal people.

He meets us

Numbers 23:15-16 “And he said unto Balak, Stand here by thy burnt offering, while I meet the LORD yonder. And the LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Go again unto Balak, and say thus.”

            In the above passage we learn about the second vision of Balaam. Here we see the Lord almighty visits him. The visitation here is for giving him a proper counselling. Even in our lives, the Lord almighty will meet us. The divine counselling of Lord God will be given to us. We read in Numbers 23:17 ‘And when he came to him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, What hath the LORD spoken?’ Here we see Balaam was near the place of burnt offering. And the Lord almighty speaks with the one that is to be visited. We can clearly see that Balaam was in a position to take a clear decision after the meeting of Almighty. We read in Numbers 23:19 ‘God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?’ The Lord God will never forsakes his children in any situation. The Lord comes to the rescue of Balaam and he never lets him down. Same way, we the children of God should allow the Lord almighty to meet us to inherit the blessings.

He is with us

Numbers 23:21 “He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.”

            We the children of God should understand that the presence of the Lord God is in our lives. The Lord almighty will never accuse us. The Lord will motivate us. Our Lord Jesus gave his life for us in the New Testament and he owns us till eternity. In Exodus 19:5-6 ‘Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.’ The passages signifies that we are the real children of God and he will never accuse us for any sake. Similarly, we read in Numbers 23:21-22 ‘He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them. God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.’ The Lord almighty who is with us will strengthen us and he will give us power of a unicorn. We the children of God will be positioned in a very esteemed place in front of worldly people.

            As we read in I John 4:4 ‘Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.’ Also in Philippians 4:13 ‘I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.’ From today, we the children of God will have the power of a Unicorn to battle it out against all odds in our lives. The presence of the Lord almighty will be with us and he will guide us till eternity. Amen.
