Break out

Introduction

Deuteronomy 1:6-8 "The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates. Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them."

Here we see Moses the man of God writes the book of Deuteronomy to provide some decrees to the people of Israel. In Hebrew, the word 'Deuteronomy' means the second law. Further we read in Deuteronomy 17:18-19 'And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:' We see Moses kept teaching the statutes of the Lord to the people of Israel. Moses wanted the generations to know how the hands of the Lord was with them and led them in the life of desert. Moses did not want the generations of the Israelites to backslide and which is why he kept reminding them about the statutes of the Lord almighty ever since they came out of the land of Egypt.

Let us discuss on important instructions that the Lord gave to the Israelites in their journey in the desert.

ENOUGH

Deuteronomy 1:5-6 "On this side Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to declare this law, saying, The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:"

Since the Lord God was with the people of Israel, he knew what they were going through every day. The above passages we see the Lord says it is enough. The Lord wants them not to suffer any more in their journey. He prepares a new way for the children of Israel. Even in our lives, we need to understand that our Lord Jesus knows our sufferings. Our Lord God will never be mute and abandon his children. Today, he says it is enough. He is going to bring in a fruitful end to our trials. We need to believe that our Lord God is preparing us for the next level.

DEPART

Deuteronomy 1:7 "Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates."

Here we see, our Lord asks them to depart. When our Lord says to break out, we need to understand that he has prepared something for us. We should immediately obey his words and act without any delay. Our Lord God is the one that leads his children to the right path. We the children of God should be ready to depart when our Lord asks us to break out.

HILL

Deuteronomy 1:7 "Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates."

In the above passage we see the Lord asks them to go to the hill top. This signifies a blessing of elevation. The city on top of the hill can never be hidden. Our Lord wants us to reach on the top spot. This will give us more opportunities in our lives. We read in Deuteronomy 1:8 'Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.' This is the blessing when we reach on the hill top. Our Lord God is going to bless us a thousand fold. Let us go reach the city on the mountain which is prepared by our father God.

GIVING THE LAND

Deuteronomy 1:8 "Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them."

We see the Amorites were already on the hill where the Lord wanted the Israelites to inherit. Despite the enemy who already lives in the hill, our Lord promises to give the place to his children. Our Lord gives Israelites the courage to go own the land that was prepared for them. And they prevailed. The enemy can never come against them because the land was already given to the children of God.

POSSESSION

Deuteronomy 1:8 "Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them."

Here we see the Lord gave them the blessing of inheritance. At this point, there is nothing that can stop the Israelites in conquering the land. The Lord God who led them from the gates of Egypt is faithful enough to make them inherit the land that was prepared for them. Even in our lives, when we obey the words of the Lord and surrender ourselves to his will, we will inherit all the blessings from our father God.

Amen.
