God who makes us prosperous-II
Introduction
Deuteronomy 30:9 "And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:"
The above verse is the promise verse for the month of July. Our Lord God will give us the blessing of prosperity. There will not be any dry state in our lives anymore. The hands of the Lord God makes things plenteous in our lives and we will lack nothing. When we read in Deuteronomy 30:8 'And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.' As rightly recorded in the verse, we the children of God should obey the voice of the Lord and adhere his commandments.
A dew of heaven
Genesis 27:28 "Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine:"
Over here we see the dew brings a blessing from above for the children of God. It is a dew of heaven. A dew that is divine and lofty. We read in Exodus 16:13-14 'And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host. And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.' Here we see the children of Israel names the heavenly food as Manna. We see the Manna that God gave them came along with a dew.
Dew of Authority
I Kings 17:1 "And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word."
We see the dew is more or less a symbol of prosperity. When we read the above passage we can see the land was dry. The land will not be prosperous if there is no dew or rainfall. Since the dew is responsible to bring in prosperity, we refer this dew as the dew of authority. When Elijah prayed, the dew and rain fell on the land. The dew and rains obeys the words of Elijah. Our Lord God gives the authority to Elijah over the nature. Even in our lives, we might be thinking that we have no power over nature. We need to understand that our Lord almighty gives us the authority over the nature. When we believe in his matchless name, things will turn upside down. As the Lord changes the dry state of the land into a land of prosperity, so will our lives be changed by the dew of authority.
We read in I Kings 18:37 'Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.' We can understand two things from this passage. One, we need to have faith on the name of the Lord. Second, we should turn back our hearts to our Lord God. When we make it a point to do these two, all the things will change and it will work for our favor.
Amen.
