DIVINE FAITHFULNESS
Introduction
II Corinthians 1:20 "For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."
Our Lord Jesus has given us many promises concerning our future and he had been guiding us by his comforting words all these while. We read in I Thessalonians 5:24 'Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.' Today, all the unfulfilled promises will be fulfilled as the divine faithfulness of God is going to take in charge. As a part of today's mediation, let us discuss the different blessings that his divine faithfulness is going to bless us with.
Faithful in Covenant
Genesis 9:15 "And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh."
The divine covenant that we have is the Holy Bible that God has given us. Our Lord God has made a covenant with his children. Here on the above passage, we see God makes a covenant that he will not harm any living creature on earth at that time. And he keeps up his word. Even in our lives, our Lord will fulfil his covenant with us. When we read in Genesis chapter 18, we can see the prayer of Abraham. He prays for the people and the nation. In Genesis 19:16 ‘And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.’ The prayer of Abraham was heard. The Lord God saves Lot’s family from the destruction. Today, it is so true that all our prayers will be heard and answered. When we pray for our nation and our city, our prayers will be answered and the Lord himself will save our nation. Our Lord God will honor the covenant that we have with him.
Faithful in fulfilling
Genesis 18:19 “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.”
Here in the above passage, the Lord himself shares a testimony concerning Abraham. In Genesis 12:3 'And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.' We see the Lord promised Abraham certain things and also he fulfills what he has promised. We further read in Genesis 13:14 ‘And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:’ Here in this passage he blesses the generation of Abraham. Even in our lives, it is highly important that our generations are blessed. We should lead our kids and all our generations in a sacred manner. When we fail to guide our generation in the right way, they tend to backslide. Let us not give room for that. We the children of God should be the root cause for the blessings that are generations are to be blessed upon. In Genesis 21:1-2 'And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.' Here we see how the Lord was gracious to Sarah and blessed her with a baby. Even in our lives, our Lord Jesus is ready to perform miracles at the set time. The miracles might delay but it will not fail. Our Lord is faithful to fulfill all that we ask of him.
Faithful in kindness
Genesis 24:27 "And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren."
Our Lord Jesus is going to bless us with new things. The grace that he is going to give us will enable us to do things in a different way. When they were searching a bride for Isaac, the Lord led them. Our Lord made sure they reach and meet the right people. Same way, the mercies of our Lord is going to direct us to reach the correct destination in our lives. In Romans 11:29 'For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.' The divine grace and his tender mercies will be increasing day by day and it will be showered upon his children. Therefore, let the divine faithfulness of God guide us guard us and protect us. Let us be blessed abundantly with his divine faithfulness. Amen.
