The problem solved by Jesus
Introduction
Matthew 15:32 "Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way."
Matthew 15:36-38 "And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full. And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children."
In the above passages we can read about the incident on seven breads and few fishes. We can very well understand how our Lord Jesus did a mighty miracle that fed a multitude. As a part of today’s mediation, let us see how Jesus handled the problem during a crisis situation.
DECISION
Matthew 15:32 "Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way."
Our Lord Jesus could have left the place as soon as he finished his sermon. But Jesus did not do so. He was so compassionate on his children. He did not want to send his children away with fasting. Our Lord knew that there is a lack of food and he wanted to do something about it. The Lord Jesus was so decisive in that situation and he somehow wanted to put an end to the crisis situation. Even in our lives, how are we handling our problems? Some of us does not even care about our own problems and we are not even ready to put an end to it. Today, the Lord God is going to bring a permanent solution to all our problems. As the Lord was so compassionate over the multitude that were gathered there so will the same compassion be shown to us. Our Lord Jesus was decisive in his approach towards the crisis situation. Therefore, we the children of God should also be keen in getting the problems solved in our lives. Let us not live with our problems but rather be decisive to find a solution through Christ.
BURDEN
Matthew 15:32 "Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way."
When Jesus was facing the crisis situation, he worried about his people. Our Lord had the burden inside him concerning his children. Even in our lives, we should have the genuine burden concerning our life, our family, our children and our future. Only when we have these burdens, we can cast it on our Lord Jesus to take care of it. When all our burdens are transferred to our Lord God, he will bring in a solution. Our Lord Jesus is bringing a fruitful end to all our burdens that we have been carrying all these while. If we have these burden concerning our problems, we can very well understand that we are nearing to an answer.
HANDLING
Matthew 15:32-33 "Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way. And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?"
The above passages reveals how well Jesus manages the situation. The disciples started to lament on seeing their current situation. In Matthew 14:16-17 'But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.' During the time of five breads and two fishes, Jesus asks his disciples to handle the situation, but they refuse to volunteer. In Matthew chapter 4 they learnt how to handle to problem and in chapter 15 he wanted them to handle the situation. This clearly signifies that we the children of God should learn and grow. It is very important that we learn from our past. Let us start to handle all the problems through the power of God.
FAITH
Matthew 15:33 "And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?"
The disciples of Jesus only saw the current situation. They were able to see only the desert. But our Lord Jesus saw the super natural power of his father. When the disciples were wondering how they will be fed in the dry desert, the mighty power of our Lord God worked a miracle. In Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” As this verse clearly states that our Lord God that we worship is able to pave way in wilderness and rivers in the desert. Today, our Lord God commands a solution to all our problems if we truly believe in his name.
We read in Matthew 15:34-35 ‘And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.’ Our Lord God makes a miracle with whatever they have at that time. Same way, our Lord can make any form of miracles out of anything for his children. Sometimes, the answer that we are looking for rests with us. But we fail to see it. We the children of God should firmly believe that all our problems will come to an end. Even before the problem could actually get over, we should believe that it is already over. In Matthew 15:37 ‘And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.’ As rightly recorded in this verse, our Lord God will enable us to save from the rest. We the children of God will lack nothing. Our Lord Jesus will command a divine satisfaction in our lives and we will blessed abundantly. Amen. God bless you!
