Year of Increase-2
Introduction
Isaiah 54:3 "For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited."
As recorded in the above verse, we the children of God are going to be blessed with the blessing of increase. Today as a part of our mediation, let us meditate upon the blessings of increase that our Lord almighty is going to bestow on us.
I Increase in words
Psalm 119:32 'I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.'
The Christian life is compared to a run in the above passage. When we broaden our hearts, our Lord starts to fill it with his blessings. It brings more space for the Lord almighty to bless us through his words. When we make it a point to abolish all the old myths and superstitious beliefs that is when our hearts will broaden. All the words that proceeds out of our mouths should be holy and that should motivate other people. The words of the Lord should be present inside our hearts and we must act according to it. In Psalm 119:19,21 ‘I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me. Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments.’ In this verse we see, the psalmist humbles himself as a stranger before the Lord. As we know the proud is always rebuked by our Lord God and he lifts up the humble. Let the words of God increase in this year and bless us.
II Increase in spirituality
John 10:10 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
We all should understand that our Lord Jesus came to this world only to bless our lives abundantly. Our Lord God will command an increase in spiritual lives. We will be blessed with an eternal life and sufficiency. We read in II Corinthians 9:8 ‘And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:’ As recorded in this verse, we will be experiencing an increase in all the good works that we have been doing. We the children of God will witness the goodness of his pastures. Let not the false preaching or false prophets deviate our spiritual lives. May the increase in spirituality strengthen our lives.
III Increase in Love
Ephesians 3:17-19 "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."
The important thing that Paul stresses here in the above passage is about love. We the children of God should be deeply rooted in love. When we start loving our Lord God intensely, our blessings will multiply. Our Lord loves us so much that he gave his only son Jesus for our sake. Same way, even we the children of God should show our love. In Ephesians 3:20 ‘Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,’ Let the love of God bless us abundantly and keep us. Amen. God bless you.
