Glory of the Lord-IV
Introduction
John 11:40 "Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?"
The above passage talks about the miracle performed by our Lord Jesus Christ to his friend Lazarus. Our Lord Jesus reveals his glory. In order to reveal his divine glory, he performs his miracle. Even in our lives we should pray to witness his divine glory so that it is made manifest in our lives. When Lazarus was raised from the dead, it revealed the divine nature of Jesus Christ. Today as a part of mediation let us continue meditating on the glory of the Lord.
I Miracle in disability
John 5:5,8,9 "And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath."
Over here when we read the above passage we come across about a man who is disable for a period of thirty eight years. His plight was unexplainable. When we read in John 5:6-7 ‘When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.’ we can understand that the man was lying there literally for years and years and he could not move. The man was totally dependent on someone for anything and everything that he wanted to do. But our Lord Jesus visited him and wanted to change his disability and changes his dependency. Even in our lives, we the children of God are disabled in certain things in life. Some of us disabled to do the ministry of God and also disabled to come to church. Today, the Lord God performs a miracle on all our infirmities. In Romans 5:6 ‘For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.’ Our Lord Jesus will strengthen his children and enable us to experience his divine glory in our lives.
II Miracle by his grace
John 5:6 "When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?"
When we read John 5:2 ‘Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.’ , we see about a pool of Bethesda. The word Bethesda would mean a house of grace. We see the man was lying near the pool of Bethesda seeking help. The man was found near the house of God (Bethesda) thinking that someone would help him get into the pool when it is stirred. When Jesus saw him near the pool side, he pours his grace on this man. Same way even we the children of God will be blessed with the miracles of grace if we gather in the house of the Lord. In John 5:7 'The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me' This verse records the lament of the man as no one was ready to pick him up when the pool is stirred. But Jesus shows his grace and puts an end to all his lament. Therefore, even in our lives, our Lord God is putting an end to all our laments and worries.
III Miracle at the time of expectation
John 5:3 "In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water."
In this verse we can see a lot of blind, lame and paralyzed people were found near the pool. All that they want is a healing. They were all waiting for the one moment that will change their sickness and disabilities forever. The disabled man had a firm faith that someday sometime he will be made whole. And the moment arrived as expected. Even in our lives, we have a lot of expectations. Our Lord Jesus is here today to make that all happen. In Ephesians 2:12 "That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:" We the children of God who are in Christ will be blessed with a miracle at the time of expectation. Therefore, let us all pray to Jesus that he should bless us with all the above dealt miracles and make us witness his divine glory forever. Amen! God bless you!
