PERFECTION
PERFECTION
Introduction:
Psalms 138:8 “The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me:thy mercy, O Lord endureth forever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.”(KJV)
Psalms 139:8 “The Lord will fulfil his purpose for me……”(The Bible League Translation)
Beloved in Christ, the above passage happens to be the promise verse of this month which in turn gives us a strong hope that God will fulfil his purpose for us. In our lives, there are many things that we initially began, but its undone or left half-way. Today, God says “I will command perfection in each and every part of your life.” The month of July is the seventh month of the year, where seven signifies Perfection. We are surely going to get rid of all the imperfections, as God sets a perfected life especially for us. In the Bible we can notice in many situations where God led his people without any lacks and imperfections. In this sermon, we are going to see what are all the perfections that God is giving us in our life.
I. Perfection in Maintenance:
Nehemiah 9:21 “Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing: their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.”
On the above passage we see how God led the people of Israel in the wilderness. It is truly amazing as we learn that God sustained (maintained) Israelites in the desert in such way that they lacked nothing. This is the kind of blessing that God is giving us today. God is going to command a best perfection in maintenance. In the later part of the verse we see, that the clothes of Israelites did not wear out nor did their feet become swollen. See how blessed those people were in the hand of God! The verse clearly depicts how graciously God had maintained them.
For instance, if a person buys a brand new car or any vehicle, it is highly important that he need to maintain it well for long-term use. Poor maintenance on anything lands up in the trouble of expenditure. Today, God promises that he is going to maintain and sustain us all through our life. Our Lord God is going to lead us in such a way, that we do not incur any expense in maintaining things. All we need to do is to believe that God had pre-devised all the things concerning us and he will do the rest. Like as God led Israelites so will God lead you, maintain you and restore health and safety.
II. Perfection in Social Life:
Deuteronomy 8:9 “A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack anything in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.”
The land of Israel is a special land, as we see it is the place where bread will not be scarce, where rocks are iron and we can dig copper out of the hills. But more than all these things, we see the people who lived there lacked nothing. The whole passage reveals how the Land of Israel is blessed by the hands of God. The blessing of the Land would also mean the blessing of the people and the society. This is exactly what the Perfection in Social life is! We can relate this perfection with any aspect of life, but more relevantly with the job that we are doing. Perfection in social life will result in the blessing of an elevation in the job and also on our societal status.
There are people who are hesitant to talk about their profession in open, as their job might be a low profile one and not highly esteemed among people. God says “ I am commanding you a perfection in your social life and I am going wipe away all your shames and disgrace and I will lift you up more than all the people in the society.” If God can make the simple stones of Israel as iron, how easy for God is to command a perfection in our social life! Therefore, Pray that God should give us this blessing to perfect his plans on us.
III. Perfection in Nature:
James 1:2-4 “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations: Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
When God permits certain trials to us, we have to consider that as temporary trainings. What for is the training? It is to teach us the Quality of Patience. In the fourth verse we understand that Patience must finish its work so that we may be mature and complete and we do not lack anything. Patience is the predominant factor that needs to be present in our spiritual life as well as worldly life. If we need to say that we are mature and complete, we must have the virtue of Patience. Patience moulds our nature and makes us stand apart. Our Lord Jesus is giving you the Perfection in nature which makes you to adhere to the divine patience.
Even in our lives, we are given into many circumstances where our patience is tested. We need to be very cautious in such cases and we should never lose our cool. Today God teaches us the Patience which perfects our nature.
IV. Perfection in Wisdom:
James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
Lack of wisdom is something which is very common and general to many of us. When people read the above verse, they think that it is suitable only for kids and students. It is a wrong notion, as we know that wisdom is required for people of all ages. Even adults might not be wise all the times. Therefore, we must get perfection in wisdom to manage many things in life. Especially in the society that we live, is more cultural bound and conservative in nature. Hence, we need to have a perfect wisdom for the choice of words that we use. Before starting a conversation, we need to observe three important things: the place where we talk, the things that are present around us and the people who surrounds us. There are many situations where we have lost good relations because of the awful words that we used on them. This is clearly due to the lack of perfection in wisdom. Therefore, today we are going to ask the everlasting wisdom from God who gives us wisdom generously without finding any fault on us.
V. Perfection in Family:
John 2:3 “And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.”
Here we see about the lack that took place at the wedding at Cana in Galilee. This is the place where God began his ministry. We can discover that God wanted to start his miracles in a Family gathering, as he gave importance to family. Many people find their family unpleasant due to many problems and misunderstandings. Today, when you talk to God about your family problems and imperfections, God restores everything that you lost and commands a Perfection in your family. The mighty power of God is taking away all the misunderstandings and confusions in your family and provides perfection in the family life. God says “You will be filled with ecstasy when you think about your family.” Therefore beloved in Christ, Pray to God that he should command you the perfection of family and all other above stated perfections. May the Lord give us the Perfection in life on all the aspects and bless us exceedingly. Amen. God Bless You!
