SUNDAY SERMONS

Exclusively for me

 Exclusively for me

Introduction:

Psalm 138:8 “The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me:thy mercy, O Lord endureth forever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.”(KJV)

Psalm 138:8 “The Lord will fulfil his purpose for me……”(The Bible League Translation)

Dear beloved in Christ, the above passage happens to be the promise verse of this month which in turn gives us a strong hope that God will fulfil his purpose for us. When we read this verse we might not really comprehend many intense meanings that each and every word obtain. In the first part of the verse we are taking the words “For Me” as it signifies that God fulfils his purpose exclusively for us. Today, Our Holy God is blessing you individually and not as a group. We need to understand that God has called us separately for his purpose and he will bless us individually to fulfil his purpose and plans.

There are many circumstances in the Bible where God has chosen his servants and blessed them separately in a unique way. Today we are going to meditate on few important incidents and learn how the experience of being blessed by God individually is.

I.JOSEPH

Genesis 37:24“And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.”

Genesis 37:28 “Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen: and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.”

Over here we see about Joseph, a servant of God who receives blessing individually. In Joseph’s life everything and everybody was against him, yet God did not forsake him at times of his distress. Joseph was given in a terrible situation, where he was thrown down into a dark pit by his own brothers out of their jealousy. During this troublesome situation God did not leave him, he immediately sends a group of merchants who comes to the rescue. Though Joseph was in a helpless state, God rescues him and makes him go to Egypt to fulfil his purpose. At the end we see the cupbearer gets reminded of his shortcomings because of Joseph(Gen 41:9) and also God makes Joseph to meet the King himself(Gen 41:14). Such is the plan and blessing of God concerning his servant Joseph.

Even in your life, you might be in the brink of failure, but God will come for the rescue. Our God is a God who changes many things in favour of us. We might see that things are contrary but we should have a strong hope that God will have something good for us. God has already started all the fruitful blessings that we have been anxiously waiting for. As God had sent a group to rescue Joseph, same way God is sending you a special group of people who are going to lift you up in your trouble times and make you experience the great blessings of God.

II.MORDECAI

Esther 2:21 “In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king’s gate, two of the king’s chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hands on the king Ahasuerus.”

Esther 2:22 “And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the queen: and Esther certified the king thereof in Mordecai name.”

How did God bless Mordecai individually here? We see two of the kings officer’s became angry and conspired to assassinate the King, when Mordecai gets to know this plot, he did not back off. Mordecai goes up and informs to Queen Esther who in turn reports it to the King. In Esther 6:1 we see God did not allow the King to sleep. Had the King slept, the Book of Esther might have turned upside down. Later as we read in Esther 6:10, when the King comes to know about Mordecai’s help, he immediately commands Haman to honour him. We see Haman was once a fatal enemy to Mordecai, but God made the same Haman to honour Mordecai. God had made a big change over here in favour of his beloved servant Mordecai. Lord says, the same person who devised evil things against for you, shall come in favour of you and honour you.

The same God who blessed Mordecai through the King, the same God is still alive and he will do the same for you. God is changing your enemies to turn in good to you. Do not get troubled by your foes, no matter how much ever evil they might do for you, God will never ever allow them to harm you. The God of Mordecai is there on your side to bless you abundantly.

III.DAVID

I Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of stature: because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as the man seeth: for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.”

I Samuel 16:11 “And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, there remaineth yet the youngest, and behold he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.”

Here we see about the life David, where he is nonchalant and docile in nature. He seemed to be not taking serious of what’s happening around him until he is called by Samuel. When Samuel is looking forward to anoint the right person, David is not there beside Samuel but instead he tends his flock of sheep. David might not know all the plans and purpose that God planned for him. But when the right time comes, God sends a person to bring him. In Chapter 16:13 we see Samuel takes the horn of oil and anoints him in the presence of his brothers. This is a perfect sign of the exclusive blessing that God is giving to David.

Today God is going to bless you in front of all your family circles. God is going to make us lift our head before our siblings. All we need to do is to silently carry out our job like unto David. David might have been considered silly and young by his siblings but God lifted him up to great heights that he had not even dreamt of. Therefore, let us ask God to bless us exclusively as he blessed David.

IV.NATHANAEL

John 1:47 “Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no guile!”

John 1:48 “Nathanael said unto him, whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.”

The most interesting part over here is, Jesus gets to know about Nathanael even before he could approach him. It is more delight and surprising that God calls him by name and knows about him. We see God shares a true testimony concerning him. Lord certifies him as a true Israelite in whom there is nothing false. Nathanael was surprised to hear that God noticed him. God somehow sees Nathanael under the fig tree amidst of people and shares a testimony about him.

Same case applies to us, as God saw us and called us by name. Nathanael had a special and exclusive calling and so do we as God is going to share a testimony on us. We know that God’s eyes are moving to and fro all through the earth and he closely watches our whereabouts. We should not say that God is not watching your troubles and trials. As God notices Nathanael, the same God will watch over you and call you by name. Therefore, pray to God that he should call you by name and share a testimony concerning you exclusively. Amen. God Bless You.
