DUNAMIS IV

The topic which we were meditating for a few weeks is ‘The power of God’ (Dunamis) from ll Corinthians 12:9 which says,..’My Grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.’ The word Power in Greek is Dunamis which is closely associated in many circumstances in the Bible, which teaches us the intensity of the Power of God and how it rescues us from the dangers in life. We shall meditate how the Power of God influences us as a normal person and blesses our life.

l.  DUNAMIS IN PERSONAL LIFE:

Romans 15:18 says, ’For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed.’

 In our own lives we may come across people who are well learned, they may be considered as knowledgeable in the sight of world. But there’s something which is more powerful than their worldly knowledge and wisdom and that is the power of signs and miracles of God. We cannot accomplish anything by our own knowledge. God’s power is highly required to do anything in life.

Even in our daily walks of life, we must need God’s power to do even simple things. Today the power of God strengthens you in your personal life. We might stagger to take certain important decisions in our life or sometimes we might be confounded to choose a right path. This is what the Holy Spirit says, ”You are not a normal person, you are enriched with God’s power and you will never be misled and confused”. So set aside all your unnecessary fears regarding your personal life as God’s power is going to be present in it.

ll. DUNAMIS IN DOCTRINE OF CROSS:

l Corinthians 1:18 says, ‘For the preaching of cross to them that perish foolishness;but unto us which are saved it is the power of God’

If we get to talk something about God’s Cross to the worldly people or people who are unsaved, they might think that we are blabbering. At times, they might even count us as fools. But there is an immense power which is closely tied up with the Doctrine of Cross. There are things in life where we find so weak to perform, it could be a very simple one and also we tend to get scared about unwanted stuffs. For this cause, the Doctrine of cross comes into rescue. The Doctrine of cross is electrifying as it swiftly strengthens us as we begin to lend our ears to it.

All our sickness, infirmities, sorrows, fears that are strangling our life is going to get vanished away by the Power of God through this Doctrine of Cross.

III. DUNAMIS TO THOSE WHO ARE CALLED:

l Corinthians 1:24  “But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the Power of God, and the Wisdom of God.”

It is highly necessary for us to have a sense of belongingness which gives us the feeling that we are called by God. Once when we get that feeling, we are given the Power of God and not only that, we are also bestowed with the Wisdom of God. I believe that we are Spiritual Jews as god has called us all. Our loving Father God has kept innumerable things for us and he will give it to us at the right time.

Do not think that there is no one to fight for us, no one to stand by our side or no one to plead for our cause. God will be zealous for our sake! The Power of God will be everything to us and it will never let anything to harm us. But what is more important? We got to have the strong faith which connects us to God. Believe that the Lord God has called us and let the Power of God help us to move forward in life.

IV. DUNAMIS IN FAITH:

I Corinthians 2:4 ‘And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the spirit and of power.

l Corinthians 2:5 ‘That your faith should not stand  in the wisdom of men, but in the Power of God.’

Whenever we do confessions of faith, God hears it and confirms it. Our faith should not rest on anything other than the Power of God. Though there may be people who might consider you foolish because of your faith on God, but your heart should not incline on their thoughts. Instead, your heart should seek for the Power of God.

Today God’s Power is pouring down towards your faith. It is going to revive your spiritual life. We should not worry about tomorrow, as tomorrow is at God’s hands. Therefore from henceforth God is giving a perfect Power to you to boost your faith in life. All your hopes, beliefs, supplications is going to prosper.

V. DUNAMIS IN OUR PHYSICAL HELP:

I Corinthians 6:13, 14 ‘Meats for the belly, and the belly for the meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the lord; and the lord for the body.’ ‘And god hath both raised up the lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.’

Our body is sacred, as it belongs to God. Our spirit, soul and body needs to be sanctified and kept Holy. Your body not only belongs to you but also to the Holy Christ. The Power of God is going to help our physical body for the Lord’s coming. The Power of God is sweeping away all sorts of sickness and weakness in our body and thereby protecting it in a sacred way. It is very hard to survive in this world without the Power of God. Therefore we have to earnestly seek for the Power of God to help us. Amen.!! God bless you!!
