STRENGTH OF GOD

We are going to meditate on the promise verse of this month which is,

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

2 Corinthians 12:9

Over here we see about the Strength of God. The Greek word for strength is Dunamis which refers not to the strength of man but of God. When God gives us His strength at the time of our need, our weakness gets changed. We need to pray God to pour out His strength on us which is the blessing given by Him. Like unto a mother who feeds her child just at the right time knowing it’s need, God will reveal His strength at the right time too and enable us to gain victory.

The Lord revealed to me four places where His Strength was seen. We are also going to analyse at what point the Strength of God is going to get revealed.

1. STRENGTH IN THORN

And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.

2 Corinthians 12:7

God allowed thorn in the flesh of Paul. He prayed to God to get rid of it but He said instead, ‘My grace is sufficient for you’. Paul had great revelations obtained from God yet he was allowed to be pricked by a thorn. Great Saints of God argue that this thorn might either be in his body or in his eyes. Whatever it might be God assured Paul that His Strength will be revealed in his weakness.

Even today God says that His strength is going to get revealed in the thorny situations you are undergoing. He will let His strength descend down during our tough times. Perhaps we might be having someone who acts like a thorn hurting us in our family itself or the thorn might be our financial situations, lack of money or even husband or wife at times.

God never try to remove that thorn in our lives. Instead He will give us His strength to move amidst that situation. But He knows when to remove the thorn and will give rest in due time. He just allows it in order to test our steadfastness towards Him and also for us not to forget Him.

2. STRENGTH IN PRAYER

Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:8, 9

Here we could see Paul praying thrice for the thorn that was pricking him to be removed. But God did not answer his prayer but said, ‘My Grace alone is sufficient.’

So Christians having thorn in their lives need to feel elated because His Grace will be more for those who have thorns. God perhaps might not give direct answer for your prayers but will give His necessary Grace as an answer.

Many would have got wearied praying a lot but God says today that His strength is made perfect in your prayers. God is not a person who will remain silent always to the prayers but the One who listens to our prayers attentively will respond at the right time. So never leave the praying habit. God will do great things just by listening to your fervent prayers.

3. STRENGTH IN WEAKNESS

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

Here we could see God saying to Paul that his Strength will be made perfect in his weakness. We need to analyse why the situation of weakness come in our lives. Paul said that he desired to be weak and would boast gladly about his weakness. That was because he knew very well that His strength will be revealed in his weakness.

God allows weakness and infirmities just to reveal His Great and Mighty Miracles in our lives. He will reveal His Grace in those situations enough to reveal His Strength.

So think about the part of your life where you feel weak. It might be your aggressiveness, economic crisis, your lust for men or things, and so on. Just rely on God and His Strength. It is just a temporary one and God will remove it very soon by giving you His strength.

4. STRENGTH IN LACKING

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

God says here that His Strength will be perfect. So that gives us an idea that there was no perfection so far due to our weaknesses. Perhaps we might be healed 80% and 20% yet to. Likewise you can apply it to any of your weaknesses. When we talk about imperfection it also means lacking. Just because we lack a certain thing there comes imperfection.

So God has come today to make your lacking a complete one by revealing His Strength. He says that he is going to bless your family in a perfect way.

People would generally feel that they have all the blessings except for the only one which they would be longing to have for many years but would not have gotten yet. But God says today that He is going to give His perfect strength in order for you to possess that blessing leading to perfection.

REWARD OF GOD’S STRENGTH

Having obtained God’s Strength in our thorny situations, in our prayers, in our weaknesses and in our lacking situations, God says that He is going to reward us just as it is written in the last part of the verse 2 Corinthians 12:9 which says,

that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

The ultimate reward of God’s Strength is the Power of Christ that will rest on you always!
