YOU WILL BE A BLESSING (24-Feb-2013) part -III
YOU WILL BE A BLESSING
“And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:”
Genesis 12:2
We see God had promised this verse to Abraham, since he wanted him to be blessed. But, Abraham had to undergo a rigorous process/path to acquire all those blessings which were promised by God. It is very true that we ourselves have to go through the path of Abraham to receive our blessings.
There were infirmities in(physically) in Abraham, he might have been apprehensive to receive those blessings. Despite of all these weakness and hindrances God made him to inherit all the blessings.
“VISION IN WEAKNESS”
“And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.”
Genesis 17:1
Abraham’s age (99 years) was the age of weakness. People will not be strong enough in that age. But, appears before Abraham and he promise many things to him. Abraham did not consider the promise as a silly thing, he believed in the vision of God.
Even in our life, we need to have a strong faith on God, No matter how feeble and poor we are Perhaps; we may not believe God’s promises. Because promise we think we are incapable of receive those promises. But when we make it a point to firmly believe in God, God will do great things in your life. All we need to do is believed in his various and promises.
“COVENANT IN WEAKNESS”
“And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.”
Genesis 17:2
Here as we read the above verses, we see God sets his covenant between him and Abraham. Despite of Abraham’s weakness he binds him with his covenant.
“But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.”
Genesis 17:21
Today God is putting you in his agreement (covenant) to make you to do things which is impossible. But there one condition, God wants us to walk before him with a perfect heart (Genesis 17:21) just as Abraham had walked.
“And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him.”
Genesis 17:23
Here Abraham obeys and fulfills the word of God. We as children of God, it is must for us to do things which are mistrusted by God. If you do so God will take care of the rest. Today, if you are perfect in your heart, God will make your enemies to reconcile with you and give peace on every side.
“STRENGTH IN WEAKNESS”
“Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”
Genesis 18:14
What is that our Lord is doing to Abraham? We know that both Abraham and Sarah were weak, but God did not consider that weakness. God prefects his Strength in their weakness.
“ And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.”
Genesis 21:1, 2
God visits Sarah, and that same God is going to visit us. AS God visited Sarah at the right time and strengthened her, it is very sure that God will visit us and give us strength at the perfect time. Are you in the position to say, that you’re weak? Do not worry ask for God’s strength in your prayer. Our Lord God is going to pour his massive strength on you and he will do mighty things in your life.
“ACHIEVEMENT IN WEAKNESS”
“Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.
And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi.”
Genesis 25:8, 11
“Ending of an activity is more important than the Beginning”. The above passages reveals Abraham’s end. We can notice that god enabled Abraham to do many things in his life amidst his weakness. Abraham’s believed in God and achieved many things. He came up as a victorious one from all his obstacles and weakness.
There was a sense of contentment that was found in Abraham’s life. God did not bless Abraham alone but also his generations. The real achievement of Abraham is he lived a perfect life in such a way that his generations were blessed. Abraham is a true achiever and he ran perfect race. Therefore, we also should be like Abraham by leading a perfect life.
“For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.”
Genesis 18:19
Knew how to lead his family and there lies the secret. If you want your generations to be blessed, you must lead a perfect life before God. When God’s strength blends with your weakness, you will be a True Achiever.
