YEAR OF GOODNESS – 3

This week’s message is the continuation of this year’s Promise Message which is Isaiah 1:19, “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.”

We saw about the good things God will give this year. This year we will experience and enjoy the blessings of God to the fullest without any lacking.  We will meditate about the ways in which God will do good things in our lives provided we are willing and obedient to His words which is the condition for this promise to be fulfilled.

1.         GREATER GOODNESS

“Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You”

Psalm 31:19

This verse records God’s Goodness to be Great. When you fear God by obeying Him, His goodness will be great in your life.  You might have experienced limited blessings in the previous year, but in this year God is promising His Great Goodness by which you would lack nothing.

May be we can say Blessed are the people who do not own a house till now since God is going to give them a big Bungalow.  Likewise all the expected blessings that were lacking so far will come in hand in a great manner.  You are going to recall all the promises of God after they get fulfilled in your life and will praise Him.

2.         FOLLOWING GOODNESS

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

Psalm 23:6

Goodness and Mercy will follow those who are willing and obedient to the Lord and His words. His Goodness continues not only for our generation but also for the generations to come.

Many will think whether God would bless their children the way He has blessed them.  But God says that He loves your children much more than you and He will take care of them completely. David’s descendants were not as faithful to God as he was yet God blessed his generation just for the sake of David’s name. He will definitely enable you and your generation to enjoy the continuation of his blessings.

Proverbs 13:21 says “good shall be repaid to the righteous”.  According to this verse, God promises you that all good things will follow your family without any gap or discontinuity.

3.         MULTIPLYING GOODNESS

“Then the Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it.  He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers.”

Deuteronomy 30:5

We see here that God blesses His children more than their earthly fathers could.  He will enable everyone to be more prosperous and be multiplied this year.

Many people worry because they could not store up wealth for their children and that they are enjoying only their forefathers’ wealth.  Bible says that we need to store up wealth for our children.  God is promising you that He is going to bless you this year by making you great and multiplying you in such a way that you will leave enough wealth for your children.

With the little income you earn, God will enable you to buy lands, houses and wealth for your children this year.  God expects that we need to focus on Him alone even if He bless us with much wealth.  Our eyes should not see the wealth but the wealth-giver.  When we do so, God will make us even greater.

4.         GOODNESS IN REWARD/RETURN

“The Lord your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your land for good.  For the Lord will again rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers.”

Deuteronomy 30:9

The Lord is willing to make you plenty and abound with blessings in all walks of life.  His blessing will be on your job, your children, wealth, health and on everything that pertains to you. You will see double increase of income in this year.  Your investments will yield you double the amount you have invested.  Even the fruit of your womb will be given double (twins). The things you lost will be restored in a double-fold manner this year.

5.         GOODNESS IN PROSPERITY

“You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance.”

Psalm 65:11

Paths dripping with abundance refer to the wealth and prosperity.  God is the one who crowns the year with goodness and this goodness will give you prosperity and wealth.  Usually Kings and Queens of the Earth will be crowned.  Our Lord is going to make you Kings and Queens this year and make your ways prosperous.  If you were spending money calculating for each and every transaction, God will enable you this year to spend generously by leading you in prosperity from now on.

6.         GOODNESS IN FELLOWSHIP

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”

Psalm 133:1

Dwelling together signifies unity and fellowship.  God expects us to have good fellowship with Him.  He expects also from us to have good fellowship with His Body - the Church as well.  God promises that this fellowship with Him and with Church will increase this year to a greater extent.  The vertical column of the Holy Cross symbolizes fellowship with God and the horizontal one fellowship with men. Both ways our fellowship need to be stronger.

7.         PERFECT GOODNESS

“And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body,

 in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground,

 in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you.”

Deuteronomy 28:11

According to this verse, God is going to command perfect goodness in all the things which you lacked so far.  God is reiterating about the fruit of the body again which signifies his definite blessing of children. God will make everything perfect and fulfil everything in your life.  You are going to see perfection in every part of your life.
