CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

PEACEFUL CHRISTMAS

“And behold there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon and the same man was just and devout waiting for the consolation of Israel and the Holy Ghost was upon him”

Luke 2:25

We see over here that what is being told about Simeon who was eagerly waiting to see Jesus the Messiah as prophesied in the Old Testament. Many virgins were eagerly waiting to have Messiah to born in their womb. Simeon was waiting to see the arrival of Comfort for Israel. He was lead by God’s Spirit and he was waiting to witness the coming of the Lord.

“Lord now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace according to thy word”

Luke 2:29

I believe this Christmas to be a Peaceful Christmas. Simeon had lot of things to share when he got to see Jesus. He was longing to see him and as a result we see in this verse his longingness fulfilled. The birth of Jesus brought in Peace which mankind had lost. The same Jesus who was a child then is today in our midst in Spirit. He is come to give us full salvation.

Even today God is going to meet you and fulfill your desires. Let us see how Simeon was blessed when he met Jesus.

I. CONSOLATION

“And behold there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon and the same man was just and devout waiting for the consolation of Israel and the Holy Ghost was upon him”

Luke 2:25

We see in this verse that Simeon was waiting for the consolation of Israel. Jesus came unto Simeon who was waiting for a long time saying “When will I see the Messiah my Saviour, my Redeemer” And his Consolation was answered as he saw Jesus in the Temple of God.

In many people’s life they have everything in life except this consolation. They are yearning for this. Today, God is going to console you from all your sorrows you are carrying. When God’s Divine spirit is with us, He will guide you and console you. No matter how big your problem is, God is specially present near you to fix those problems. The Lord will certainly console you and fill you with His eternal peace and give a new beginning.

II. COMFORTER & COUNSELLER

“…and the Holy Ghost was upon him”

Luke 2:25

We see here the Holy Spirit was with him. Being led by the Spirit he came into the Temple of God. He had a blessing of spirit. As the Holy Spirit was upon Simeon he received the experience of the Holy Spirit. When we are led by the Holy Spirit, we will be guided and directed by him.

The one who breaks the barrier will go before us and remove all our barriers. Walking with the Holy Spirit is all together a wonderful experience. We will be able to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit as he acts as a perfect mentor and counselor to us. Not only that, the Spirit will even transform and revive us. As God was with Simeon as a comforter and counselor, it is very true that we will also get those blessing if we allow the Holy Spirit lead us

III. CELEBRATION

“Then took he him in his arms and blessed God…”

Luke 2:28

When Jesus was brought to the church, Simeon was elated and received him in his arms. As soon as he took Jesus, he blessed God. Simeon was filled with praises and he was celebrating the event in his heart.

Jesus was born in this world for our sake and died for our salvation. Therefore it is we who should celebrate this Christmas in a better manner. Today, God is going to change your sorrows and command a joy. Your life will be filled with celebration. You will shout and praise God. God has not called us to weep but to shout with joy and to celebrate his name.

IV CROWN

“Lord now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace according to thy word”

Luke 2:29

Simeon saw and received what he was waiting for this long period. God commanded excellency for Simeon though he might have entered inside the church with confusion and complexities. But what happens in the end? He was filled with peace. God gives a divine ruling along with that gives us the expected end as well as the unexpected one and place his crown on our head. Each and everyday we will be able to taste the divine ruling.

Here, peace is related to crown. Today, God is putting away all your troubles and he is going to crown you with peace. This Christmas God is going to bless you and he will put an end to all your temptations. As Simeon received a divine peace, and so you will be blessed in the same way. If God rules your heart, it means its victory all over.

V CREATION

“For mine eyes have seen thy Salvation which thou hast prepared before the face of all people.

 A light to lighten the gentiles and the glory of thy people Israel”

Luke 2:30 - 33

We see here God had prepared many things for Simeon, and God gave Grace to him to see all the blessings on the appointed day. He was filled with amazement to the extent he could not believe his eyes with what God had kept for him. God likewise gave this goodnews for our sake.

Today, we will also be able to see all the blessings that God has prepared by His grace. Lord is going to bless you all of a sudden; your eyes will see the blessings that God has kept for you. God has prepared many blessing exclusively for you. Lord says, “He has kept a share for you and you will receive it at right time and your own eyes will see them.

VI CREDIBLE

“And Joseph and his mother marveled at those things which were spoken of him”

Luke 2:33

Not only Joseph and Mary but also Simeon and other people who were around were amazed at him. They received great joy. Today, I tell you God is going to command a blessing and you will be amazed at the marvelous thing that is waiting for you in your life.

You troublesome situation will be changed and you will be amazed. It is very sure that you will witness the marvelous thing in your life. Only thing we need to wait in the presence of the Lord even as Simeon waited and witnessed the incredible one.
