BLESSINGS OF ZION (September 2, 2012)

  Psalm 132:13,14 - For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His 4dwelling place:  “This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.

The Lord chose Zion unto Himself and blessed it.  I explained in this month’s promise that God’s presence is felt when we dwell in Him.  So God’s Zion is our dwelling place which is our homes.  Wherever God is present it is His Zion.  There are five points hidden in this verse and also His caution too.  The Lord reveals His direct acts in these verses.  He wants us to spend more time in Him alone.  So let us decide to spend more time with Him than with the world.

 

1.         AMPLE OF BLESSINGS

Psalm 132:15 - I will abundantly bless her provision.

There will be abundant of blessings for those who dwell in His presence always.  Unlike man, God will not measure each blessing before He gives to a person.  Whatever blessings He give, it will be an immeasurable one.

There are people who count the money they have many a times but never have a mind to spend it.  Their blessing will be according to their character.  But when we visit Zion often by spending time with Him, He will bless us in an abundant manner which will be a limitless blessing.  There will be an abundant blessing which will take care of your economy and your financial needs.  God will give enormous money to an extent that you cannot have an account of how much you are spending.

God made me also notice another point in this verse.  It did not say God blessed us but it is recorded God will bless us – a present continuous tense and it means God will bless us continuously in an abundant manner.

Prayer:  Lord, I decide to dwell in your presence and spend more time with you and your words.  Kindly bless me abundantly and take care of all my financial needs and the problems I face.  Thank you.

 

2.         ALIMENTARY – SATISFACTION THROUGH THE BREAD

Psalm 132:15 – I will satisfy her poor with bread.

When you dwell in Zion the second blessing you get is the satisfaction through bread.  Some people never get satisfied in their lives.  Unlike them God is commanding a satisfaction through bread of those who dwell in Him.  There will be blessing of God dwelling amongst all we consume.  In other words our provisions will increase when there is the blessing of God.

Some women put spiritual tastemakers in the food they prepare in order to make it tasty.  That tastemaker is nothing but the prayer which only when they put their family members may eat it boldly.  So you need to have God’s blessings on everything you see; the bread you eat or the provision.  God will lead us with sufficiency of bread and satisfy us.

When you ask a kidney transplanted person, his desire would be to drink a glass full of water.  But God enabled us graciously to eat well.  God will bless your generation and your church too and satisfy you.  His satisfaction will not only be in bread but it will be in everything.

Prayer:  Lord when I dwell in You, I found that You satisfy me with Your bread.  Kindly grant me this blessing and lead me.  Thank you.

 

3.         APPAREL

Psalm 132:16 - I will also clothe her priests with salvation.

Here I just take one word cloth.  To dress up the children with uniforms and make them ready off to school, only parents are allowed and not strangers.  They will allow a person who has an intimate relationship with them to dress them up.  Likewise when we have intimate relationship with God, He would cloth us with fine garments like how he clothed all the flowers of the field with majestic colors.

For God to cloth you is very certain when you dwell in Him.  Clothing you might be regarded as blessing you in certain area where you will be honored and praised instead of getting blamed.  He is able to cloth you each and every day and when you experience this kind of blessing, it will be an amazing one.

So how do you think you gain that experience? You should go to Zion early in the morning every day.  Bless Him and shout praises unto Him.  Then you will be clothed in an amazing way.  He will make a horn for you to bud which means He will make you special.  He will make others to wait for your help and show the world that He is with you.  He will also make things to bud in your family, job, and in all your worst situations and so on…

Prayer:  Lord, you cloth those who dwell in your presence always.  I come to know that you cloth us with majesty and with honor.  Kindly grant these blessings to me when I dwell in you.  Thank you.

 

4.         AVIDNESS

Psalm 132:17 - I will prepare a lamp for My Anointed.

When you dwell in Zion, God will prepare everything for you.  He will be avid to arrange things for you and make your pathway clear.  He will go before you as a pilot and behind you as an escort.  You will see the things he has prepared for you.  Lamp is the one that gives out light.  The Lord says, “I will remove the darkness and will work to put light on your path.  Just go and possess it.”

Just think of the first day God created the world.  He created everything right from light to grass, plants, animals, and finally man.  He prepared the world before Adam was created in order for him to enjoy the supplies.  Likewise God had created and prepared everything for you too.  Perhaps there might be some delay in possessing but kindly do not lose heart.  Your blessing will not be possessed by others and you will receive it soon.

God and Adam together created and prepared the world for Eve.  When Eve opened her eyes she saw both God and Adam.  So unmarried brothers and sisters, kindly do not worry because your partner is designated by God long back and you will get the blessing of marriage soon.  God made a lamp in order to make the darkness of our lives to get lit up.
