GOD'S POWER - PART II (JUNE 10, 2012)

We are going to continue to meditate last week’s topic regarding God’s Power.  I Samuel 14:6 says nothing can hinder the Lord from saving whether by many or by few.  Number is not a constraint for God to do His Word.  Instead of worrying about a particular problem, when you believe Him He will definitely do a great miracle with His Mighty Power.  One family shared a testimony with me.  They waited a long time to buy a particular land.  Since the ground rates of that land was very highly fixed by its owner they could not buy it.  This family was told that the owner was Iyer (Brahmin).  So they were hesitating to meet him and speak.  But one day after praying they decided to meet the owner.  When they went to meet him they were surprised that the owner was not a Brahmin as they thought but a pastor since Pastors were also called Iyers in a particular sect of Christianity.  After speaking with that Pastor, he accepted to give his land at a very low price.  This family could not even believe this but praised God for His Powerful Miracle.

Such is the work of the Power of God.  He is a big God who does great things.  According to John 4:4, the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.  So this big God is going to do big things for you.  Our insufficiency plus God’s Power will create a big miracle.

1.    Extraordinary Power
2 Kings 7:1,2 – Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord: ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.’”
So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, “Look, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, could this thing be?”
During famine, the price of a normal product will be much higher than its original price.  But when we have God’s Grace we will get that particular product cheaper than the market value during the period of famine.  No matter what might be the situation for the world, there will be availability of products for a cheaper price for God’s children.  The officer in this verse raised a question that this can only happen when God open the Windows of Heaven.  The prophet answered that God’s Power will do all things.

If the Lord says something extraordinary please accept with your whole heart and do not apply your logic as to whether it might happen or not.  This was what happened to the Israelites who murmured against God.  God will change the practical ways and does Miracle.  He will change the practice of your work spot and do necessary things for you.

Prayer:  Dear God, please change the practical ways in my family, work spot, promotion, etc…. You alone are the one who changes ordinary things to extraordinary ones.  Thank You.

2.    Strengthening Power
2 Chronicles 14:11 – Then Asa called to the Lord his God and said, “Lord, there is no one like you to help the powerless against the mighty.  Help us, O lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this vast army.  O Lord, you are our God.  Do not let man prevail against you.”

Asa the king had just three thousand men in his army to come against the enemy who had ten thousand men in his army.  He did not pray to God in a negative way.  Rather he cried unto the Lord saying man’ strength is nothing.  God’s strength alone can give victory.  When he prayed in this way, God descended and strengthened him and his enemies fled before him.  God commanded a great victory to him that day.

I know a pastor who has a practice of not praying for elderly people.  His opinion is that elderly people will definitely die and there is no point in praying.  But for our Lord age is not a constraint and there is no barrier for the Power of God.  Perhaps you may be thinking you have lost all your strength.  But when the Power of God descends, He will help you tackle all your problems.  To get help from man is very difficult but for God to help man is an easy thing.  Nothing could stand before the Power of God.  So please remove the limits you have set for God’s Power.

Prayer:  Lord I am not able to work, study or run my family.  Please let your Grace descend in my life.  It is not in my hands.  I submit everything under your feet.  Thank You.

3.    Daring Power

2 Chronicles 32:7 - “Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him.

King Hezekiah was afraid of King Assyria since the latter raised a doubt among the people of how King Hezekiah is going to save you.  Prophet and King Hezekiah cried to Heaven and the God descended and strengthened King Hezekiah to be strong and courageous.  Sennacherib’s things changed and he returned with a dead face.  His Power is revealed here as a Daring Power.  He never judges based on the weight of a family.  Nothing can hinder the Lord from saving either with many or with few.

This Powerful God has come even now to make you bold to face the world.  Whoever challenges against you will get ashamed and return with a dead face.  God will send an Angel and will do all necessary things for you.  His deeds for you are going to be terrible.  God will make your enemy to hear a noise at which they get terrified and run away from you.

Prayer:  Lord, please send an Angel for me to save from my enemies like how you send for King Hezekiah.  You alone are the one who can save me.  Thank You.

4.    Reviving Power

Ezekiel 37:3 - He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”  I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”

Ezekiel could not understand what the Lord asked him about the bones getting revived.  He could not believe but at the same time he said, “Only You alone know that thing.”

We have to say the same thing to our deadly situations.  God is there for us to make all impossible things possible.  God has come now to say that He is there to take care of you.  Kindly do not think all is over.  The dead situation in your life will be revived when you pray to God.

Prayer:  Dear Lord, Please revive all my dead situations and make me see victory.  Thank You.
