THE SIGHT OF THE LORD

Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. Isa43:4

God will not give sleep to His eyes or slumbers to His eyelids. He always watches over us and protects us and also we can never escape from His sight. When we do things, which is pleasing to Him we are precious in His sight and we will be honoured by Him. Today we are going to meditate about the ways to observe to inherit the promise and what we should do to please Him?

1. Ways:

And Balaam said unto the angel of the LORD, I have sinned; for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease thee, I will get me back again. Num22:34

God used some prophets outwardly and some in a hidden manner. For example this Balaam was also a hidden prophet who did God’s ministry faithfully. Balaak invited Balaam to curse the Israelites. And he said that he had to inquire God and as God said no, he also said no to them. But when they compelled him he also inquired God again about the which God had already told “No”. But this time God says Okay. It is not because He likes him to go but then because he was asking again and again.

But the purpose of his going is to curse God’s people, that’s what he was invited for, by Balaak. A donkey saved him by the way from an angel who was about to kill him. After the donkey spoke to him he said that he did not know that the angel was infront of him, and if it do not please you, I will go back. Many of you do the same mistake today. Though it is not God’s will, and if you still do it, God Himself is against us but you do not understand that.

Some people, as they are blessed, they think what all they do is right and some as God has taken away the blessings He had given them, they think God is approving what they are doing. If you are knowingly doing what is wrong, Your end will be like Balaam’s. Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. Jud1:11.

Our God is patient, long suffering, merciful and forgiven but if you die today what will you do? or  If therefore thou shalt not watch,  He will come on you as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. Man sees your face and God sees your heart. Change your way if it is displeasing to God and you will inherit the blessings.

Prayer: Lord, if my ways are displeasing in Your sight, change me. I submit myself in your hands, cleanse me.

2. Prayer:

And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. IKings3:10

Sometimes, God is well pleased with our prayer when it is according to His will. I hope, God will edit and list3en to our prayers otherwise I am sure no one of us will be alive to day. Yes, when we are so much troubled we tend to say atleast once, “God take my life”, which is a popular verse. But He will not listen to that. The Bible says, “The eyes of the Lord had seen the prayer”, but why your prayers are not heard? If God gives you before time you will not know the value of it. And when you understand the value of it, He won’t delay that blessing. He has heard your prayer and He will fulfill it in His time.

Prayer: Lord, I believe Your eyes have seen the prayer and Your ears have heard it, answer me Lord without any delay.

3. Good work:

I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. 2Kings20:3

Some people build up things and speaks very proudly and exaggerate things. The good works done by you will not be forgotten by God. Though people do not recognize it, God sees that and He will reward you accordingly. In our church, we have a Good Samaritan fund from which we help widows, poor students and all possible charities. God remembered Hezekiah’s good works and increased 15 years of Hezekiah’s life.

Prayer: God You are not unrighteous to forget my work and labour of love, which I have showed toward Your name, in that I have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

4. Hidden nature of our heart:

But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. IPet3:4

Here, God sees the inner heart and it is like unto an ornament and precious in the sight of God. Those who received the Holy Spirit can go to heaven but when the fruits are perfect in us we can be with Him. How is your nature, is it right before God? Sometimes you might also be warned of some people to be in contact with. When God says, Just obey. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Prayer: Lord, My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.
