THERE IS A LAD HERE 13/11/11
THERE IS A LAD HERE
We must receive the kingdom of God as little children Mrk10:15; that is, we must stand affected to Christ and his grace as little children do to their parents, nurses, and teachers. We must learn as children (that is the learning age), and in learning must believe, A learner must believe. The mind of a child is white paper, you may write upon it what you will; such must our minds be to the pen of the blessed Spirit. Children are under government; so must we be. We should be like little children; they do not ask for reasons once they are told they will believe. We are going to meditate the character of the children. Though the mother shouted at the child when he goes to school, he comes back from the school calling "mummy" forgetting about the past. This is the innoncence of the child but the grown ups can never forget those who talked or acted against them.
1. Faith:
And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Mat18:2,3,4
There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?Jn6:9.
Jesus had compassion on the multitude “They don’t need to go. You give them something to eat.” How did Andrew, brother of James know that the lad has some food? He would have come and given it voluntarily. Here we see the difference between the faith of the lad and the disciples. The lad gave the little food in his hand when they asked but the disciples said, but what good are these for so many people? Children always have a blind belief on their parents. Their father is their hero. They always think that their father can do anything. They believe nothing is impossible with their father and we should have the same belief with the Father God.
Parents should be very careful while talking infront of their children keeping in mind that you are their role model. Children never used to think whether their parents will be able to buy it or not but it asks with the confidence that they could buy for them. They might not buy it for them but our heavenly Father when you believe and ask Him, He will definitely give without fail.
Vedanayagam Shastri, a man of God came back home after his ministry and asked his wife for a coffee. She did not say that there is nothing at home but brought the glass and kept it on the table upside down. And he understood the situation. He looked upon the sky and said,"Son of Mary, I am doing your work, how can You leave me to hunger? Within a minute somebody brought all the provisions for his house.
Everyone has got a problem but with your faith you can overcome it. You should have a faith that "God will lead me". Because of you, your company will be blessed. The secret in this is "Bring them unto Me".
Prayer: Lord whatever I have, faithfully I give it in your hand. Bless it and give me. Give me a stedfast faith like the little children. I give myself into your hands, take control of me, bless me and multiply.
2. Give:
There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? Jn6:9
The lad gave everything which was in his hand. The food which he had might not have been sufficient for himself if he had eaten that. And all those multitude would have gone hungry. The family who is fatihful in giving is blessed and they will not be short of anything but be blessed abundantly. We have seen this with our own eyes. Some people won't give to God nor allow others to give.
In the year 1994, when my father was alive a believer's family invited us to their home. And when we went they gave us nice dinner and then they gave a cover with lot of money around 80,000Rs. They said that is the share of their father's property and to give that to you we called you.We prayed and took only the tithe of it and gave back all the money to them. They were in a rental house,no car etc; they were such a middle class family. Today if you see them in the same street they own many houses. When you are faithful in the things of God, you will bless us more.
If both the husband and wife are working they should bring both together and you should keep your hand and pray. Then take the tithe from it, put it in a single cover and bring it before God. When you have that oneness God protects you and your family.
Prayer: Lord, Give me grace to give you faithfully and inherit the blessings You have in store for me.
3. Comprehend the miracles:
There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? Jn6:9
Here we see the difference between the small boy and the grown ups. The disciples did not have the faith that Jesus would be able to perform a miracle with the little food which the boy had.
But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people. Lk9:13. Firstly, they did not have enough money to buy food for all the multitude, they needed 200 penny worth money. Secondly, they were lazy to go out and buy from the shop. Disciples were expecting miracles from outside but this boy had a belief that the miracle is within him. God can do great things in what you have and that Lord is with us. It is like "They have it but not knowing it they search it elsewhere. Do not look others hands, only look at Him. "Your miracle is with you".
Prayer: Lord, You received the children, and gave them what was desired; They begged You would touch them, but You did more. You took them in Your arms.Carry me too Lord.
4. Blessed:
And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. Mat14:19
And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes. Mrk6:43
A blessing of "satisfaction" and "taking back in excess". May the Lord give you both these blessings. Because they looked unto GOd for the blessing and they know where the miracle is. The miracle is with you. Even today a greater miracle will happen if you have that sort of faith.Did you enter in with so many negative thoughts and confusions? God says, "I will send you as a blessed people, only believe".
In some families their expenditure always exceeds their income but for you the blessing of the Lord is in such a manner that you will be content and take back in excess.
In a marriage we prepared food for 1200 people but 1600 people attended that marriage. It was a true miracle of God that the food and chicken was enough for all of them.
Prayer: Lord, You took them up in Your arms, in token of Your affectionate concern for them; put Your hands upon them, as was desired, and blessed them, change me like unto them and do all these to me Lord. Amen.
