GOD’S WILL ABOUT US

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: Eph1:11

God has got a purpose concerning us. God is working towards us fulfilling His own will. We might not know the will of God and wondering why I am living in this way! We are living according to the will of God. Small kids do not know the importance of education. They hate their mother and father who forced them to go to the school because they do not realize they are forcing this education for their good. Likewise many times we are angry with God when He allows things in our lives to take us to the next level. You should be always aware of the truth, “My God does everything good for me”.

God says, “You are seen in the center of My will and I am leading you according to my will and will lead you. Today we are going to meditate about the will of God concerning you. Ask yourself, “Am I found in the center of God’s will?”

Prayer: Lord, I surrender myself to do according to Your will and inherit the blessings You have kept in store for me. I hereby surrender to be obedient to Your words.

1. Praise God:

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.  1The5:18

Once a chinese was sick, in a serious condition of inhaling through oxygen cylinder, admitted in the ICU and a man went to see him and stood near him and that person tried to say something to the man and as he could not understand chinese language, he was asking him to repeat that again but before that the person died. The man was curious to know the meaning of what he told. In that period there was no internet facility so he directly went to China and came to know the meaning of that sentence was “Take off your leg from the oxygen tube, I cannot breathe”. This is not the will of God to be a trouble for someone.

A person had a habit of eating an egg every morning. He taught his students to boil egg in this way: Put the egg in the boiling water and after praising God for 45 times (45secs) take the egg out. What a good idea! How many of you do that? Today how many times did you praise the Lord. Every time we greet others we say “Praise the Lord” so the many you greet, many you praise the Lord. It is God’s will to give thanks to Him in everything.

2. Do good deeds

For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: 1Pet2:15

Apart from one all the disciples of Jesus were martyrs (blood testimony) and they prayed a small prayer before they die, “Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.  They reflected Jesus in their life. Let us do good things for those who do evil for us.

Try this: Tomorrow when you go to work, buy a gift for the person who troubles you the most and please do not forget to write us the reaction of them. They will not come in your way again definitely.

Prayer: Lord, I many times behaved foolishly and ignorantly till then you forgive me when I ask for forgiveness and always do everything good for me. Help me to look a lot like you.

3. Be Holy:

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 1The4:3

Many people who is called as Christians may live a rebellious life but we as a separated and chosen generation should live a holy life. That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: 1The4:4,5

A boy asked the Pastor, “Where in the Bible is recorded that you should not smoke?” The Pastor thought for a second and then replied, “See your body does not belong to you it belongs to God and it is the temple of God. If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness, for without it no one will see the Lord. I pray that your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. In that he spends the rest of his time on earth concerned about the will of God and not human desires. 1Pet4:2.

God is transforming us as He is. The word of the Lord is a sharp twoedged sword. It will slash you one who listens to the word and me one who teaches it. If the Lord is speaking to you, do not hesitate to come out of your strong hold. That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. We should have a desire to be holy each and everyday.

Prayer: Lord, Make me holy for thou art holy.

4. Be Patient:

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Heb10:36

We are living in a fast world. Many things especially food items we get instantly but for the God’s promise to be fulfilled we need to wait patiently. He makes all things beautiful in His time.

A girl is matured enough to handle the married life only when she becomes a major.  God alone knows when we are able to manage with the things provided for us and cope with it, till then we have to wait.

Prayer: Lord, direct my heart into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ’s blessings.

5. Do the ministry:

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 1Tim2:4

In Srilanka there is a very big medical college and inside that huge hospital and so many amenities are there. A believer from our church started a small prayer group before so many years started with two to three, now there are around 200 people coming for that prayer. Most of them are non Christians. Tomorrow they have organized an inaugural function for that prayer cell and I am invited for that. I was in high spirits when I heard about such harvest by our children.

You cannot escape saying that you are doing a white collared job and you cannot earn souls for God. If you will, God will do it for you. I know an IT professional who is the in a very big position, handling companies in three countries. Most of the time he will be in the web conference call. After his official speech, he will choose one or two and talk to them about God. It is a sort of ministry you can do.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You came not be ministered unto , but to minister, and to give You life a rescue for many. We are set free and give us boldness that we can preach Your gospel to everyone we know.

6. Be Perfect:

Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit. Heb6:2,3

Basic doctrines is like the base or foundation. The foundation of the house alone is not enough to live in. The building should be built upon it.

For more than 25 years a believer is coming to our church. Before they arrived some new believers came and sat in the chair unknowingly, where those 25 years believers used to sit. They came and shouted at the new believers how dare you sit on my chair, it is off more than 25 years I am sitting in this chair, get up. And those new believers went out of our church that day and never turned back. Just think, “As a matured believer, should we bring in souls or send the souls away?”

By God’s grace our church has grown a lot and there are thousands of people now. As a matured believer you should not be complaining that Pastor is not coming to our house. You should be in a position to go and visit others. It is not that we will not come, we will definitely come to visit the sick people and to the important functions. But if  you are still complaining about others, when are you going to grow and be perfected.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, Help me to love my enemy and pray for those who persecute me. Make me perfect, as my heavenly Father is perfect.
