GLORIFY GOD

But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. 2Cor10:17 In Greek translation it is given like this: But the one who boasts must boast in the Lord. In tamil also it is given alike. So then, no more boasting about mere mortals! Some people sing their own praises. They talk big of their riches, status, religion and caste but when you go and see their real status they will be nothing. Though the worldly people boast about many thing we are the kings and the royal priests of the holy nation. God wants me to give this message for the people who blow their own horn to break all their pride and glorify God for all their blessings and success.

Are you of good health, rich, help out, holy, good and gentle? These are all not because of your righteousness it is all because of God’s grace. So when others praise you for your good character or success never forget to say, “It is by His grace”. We are alive today because of His grace and all glory belongs to Him alone. Today we are going to see in what all things we should glorify Him.

ABOUT THE VICTORY

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. Psa20:7

No matter what others trust in but we trust in God alone for everything. When some one asks about your success or achievement or fame your reply should be “by the grace of God”. Never say it is because of my hard work, my talent etc, if you work hard you need strength, who gave that to you? The root cause for all the blessings is God alone. If I am in God’s ministry, it is not because I am worthy for it but because of His grace He called me into this ministry and makes me sine forth.

I know a sister who was very brilliant in her studies. She wrote her higher class exams and was waiting for the result. She was very sure that she will score the best marks.

When some of our believer asked her whether she would pass in her exams she was quite angry. I am expecting for the best mark and this man is asking like this? What’s the doubt in passing! And the results came, she was failed in Physics. She bitterly cried. My mom said that “we might have learnt well and written very well but the person who corrects it should be in a good mood to correct that properly”. So we should never forget to ask for His grace. When we depend on Him and do our duties it will always be a successful one.

Are you victorious in your life? Remember that’s because of His grace and not because of your talent. There was a great reward given to a great Indian musician in the Hollywood. It was a very grand function and that musician was asked to say a few words. In the midst of all the foreigners he humbly said “All glory be to God” in his mother tongue tamil. Then he translated in English and said that. How zealous a muslim is for his God! How much more we should be?

ABOUT THE HAPPINESS

The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory. Psa64:10

We should glorify God for the happiness which He has given in our life. When people ask for the reason you should say from your heart “As Jesus is in my life and my family I am happy”. Some people are blessed with the great sense of humor and always make the people laugh surrounding them. Some others are there they will always be sad, they make themselves sure not to laugh for the funniest things said to them and spoil the mood of others too.

Do not be tensed for everything, your worry will increase your stress. Ask God to take the pressure off. Relax yourself for sometime by being with God. We are alive because of the truth, joy and happiness which God has given to us. When we went to Los Angels we were taken to a garden by the organizer. It was stunning but as we went on we realized that is a cemetery. And the guide showed us a rack and when we looked at it the name “Marlin Manroe” was written on that rack. In her very young age she became world famous. She did not have any lack of the worldly riches but she did not have peace. She committed suicide in her young age. Even today some body used to keep flowers near that casket and kissed it.

One day a man came to a Psychiatrist saying that he has all the worldly comfort and health but I am not happy. The Doctor has no medicine to treat him off. So he advised him to go to the circus and see the clown. He replied I am that clown, I make everyone happy but I am not happy. And the Doctor was dumbfounded and he said that he could not treat him. Yes, the worldly things will give pleasure but it will not give you a perfect joy which in turn give you serenity. We Godly children can guarantee that happiness to anyone by asking them to come to Jesus. Glory ye in His holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You will make known to me the ways of life; You shalt make me full of joy with Your countenance”. I want to receive it totally and not partially and let me be a testimony of happiness before everyone.

ABOUT THE INHERITANCE

That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance. Psa106:5

When we buy a house, land or something how happy we would be to possess it. We should not forget to glorify His name. You should be ready to say, “I came empty handed but God has blessed me with all these possessions”, when you confess like that God will even more increase your blessings. Some people the moment they receive the blessings they forget God.

One day a sister did not come to the church and my father went to her house and asked her about that. She said, “as I do not have a child my mother-in-law is planning to marry another girl for my husband” and I am broken and crying in God’s feet. My father told her not to worry and prayed for her. In the next ten months she was blessed with twin babies. And again she was missing in the church, when asked she told, “Pastor you prayed too much for me, I got twin babies and I am not able to bring them both to the church”. Make sure in all situations glorify God by obeying His commandments.

Prayer: Lord, By thy grace I possess all these blessings. Lord, help me not to be of a high look and a proud heart which You will not suffer.

ABOUT THE HOLINESS

In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory. Isa45:25

This chapter talks about the backsliding Israelites. The Lord expects you to worship Him with holiness. We need to praise the God for the holiness He has given to us by His grace. We should crave this holiness with a passion. If out of self-righteousness one can be holy everyone in this world can be holy. Never say because I read the Bible and I always meditate I am holy. Only because of His grace you are holy. He is the only way for us to be holy and by His grace we are holy.

ABOUT KNOWING GOD

Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. Jer9:23,24

Imagine there is a small baby. What does it think about its mother? Someone to give me milk, to love me, to take good care of me, to meet all my needs. So the baby knows about its mother gradually. A spiritual child should have the same experience of knowing God. Have you ever thought of “Why is that I am the only person to be saved in my family?” Is it because you are holy or better than anyone else? For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast.

Before I went to France I just want to have an idea about that country and I searched in the website “Google earth” and I was amazed to see those places. But after I reached France I realized that the things which I saw in that web site was nothing compared to the true elegance of that country, how huge and imposing the Eiffel tower is! The same way we know God, it is very little and when we see Him face to face that is going to be a glorious and magnificent one.

Prayer: Lord, help me to know you more and more. Draw me nearer Lord and reveal thyself to me.

ABOUT HIS GRACE

My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2Cor12:9

It is like a two edged, on one side there is an excellency of His grace and on the other end your weakness is pricking you like a thorn. (One side going up and on the other side going down?). Are you in a position to say that “I cannot deal with my nature”. God says, “My grace is sufficient for thee.” He will help you to overcome your weaknesses. And of His fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

Prayer: Lord, I ask in faith, nothing wavering. Through the grace given unto me, not to think of myself more highly than I ought to think; but to think soberly, according as thou had dealt to every man the measure of faith. Shower me with thy grace.

ABOUT THE HOPE OF ETERNAL GLORY

By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; Rom5:2,3

For us there is a hope that we have a life after death that too is eternal. Just as sin reigned in death, so also grace will reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom5:21. You do not get this assurance anywhere. Jesus alone gives this hope. He alone underwent the death and rose again on the third day. The only tomb empty in this world is His because He is resurrected and is sitting at the right hand of God interceding for us.

If you have the hope that if you die today you will be with Him then this hope is sufficient for you to be taken with Him. A man of God used to say this sentence always, “I will close my eyes in this world and the next second I will open my eyes in the Lord Jesus. This hope should be with us. Like others we do not run a race in vain but knowing the end of it. So many scientists and others run in the darkness not knowing the end, but our hope is the glorious end.

Prayer: Lord, Thanks for the hope of eternal glory You have given to me by Your grace. I cannot boast of anything apart from You Lord. Give me grace. Amen.
