HIS WORD

 

 But His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. Jer20:9

 

Today we are going to meditate on His word. How is the word of the Lord found? Is it like a burning fire shut up in the bones? Let us look into the glory of His word. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Psa119:89. We can understand the power, knowledge and His handiwork when we look into the heavens. When we went to Florida, US we looked up the sky and wondered to see the Bible verse visibly on the sky. Then when we looked keenly we could see a small aeroplane and a man from it was sprinkling some powder using some techniques and that was forming that verses. Afterwards the verse slowly expanded and disappeared. This way he preached the gospel as he could afford for that.

 

There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass. Jos21:45. Whatever word the Lord had spoken it will definitely come to pass, with the only condition of believing it. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Mat24:35. We are going to see in what manner the Lord want to fulfill His word in our life or in what way it was given to us.

 

1. WORD THAT DESCENDS:

 

My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: Deu32:2. The word that descends upon us directly from the Lord and the word being showered upon us or in other words it always empowers and surrounds us. Write each and every promise you receive from God in a chart and hang it in a visible place in your house and confess it each time you see that.

 

 A believer of our church was an ex-military man and he was searching for a job. He did not get any job for along time and my father advised him to do some ministry like write the Bible verse anywhere you can and preach the gospel. So he went to the Pallavaram Mount and wrote the verse in a huge size so that it will be visible to the people who see from down. The very next day he was offered a very good Government job and a permanent one. Satan was not happy with his ministry he did for God and thought better he would stop hindering his job of un occupation for a God’s child. He is not alive today but his family enjoys the benefits.

 

May the word of the Lord be poured out on you as if you are fully wet by the rain. When the word descends upon our heart our lives will be changed; we will live a transformed life and we will be completely following it as we are filled with His word. If we totally believe on Him we will not worry about anything with the belief that He will look after me.  We have worries in this world but when Jesus says, “Cast your burden upon me” we should be ready to do that and we should not say God has allowed this, so I need to carry this. God’s children should be free from all worries and should be cheerful all the time. Indian students carry a huge bag everyday to school. When they go in the van many of them do not keep their bags down, they will carry bags on their shoulders (won’t keep it down) till they reach their classroom. Likewise you have got a way to leave it to God but still if you say I will carry this, you cannot expect Jesus to help you.

 

When you come to the church His word is poured out on you, but how many of you take it to heart? The Lord’s desire of His children is total dependence and a complete belief on Him, a blind belief like a child trust his father, logical thinking will not work out here. In which part of our life His word should be found?

 

Prayer: O Lord, Teach me how to spread thy word in me, my street, city, country and the nation. We want to become like You Lord, rain thy word on me. Take me, bless me, break me and use me as an instrument for thy work. Amen

 

2. WORD IN TONGUE:

 

The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and His word was in my tongue. IISam23:2

 

Most of the Indians expect their children to speak English fluently. But as a Christians we should expect our children to speak God’s word always. We should learn to quote every examples from the Bible. Let no bad words proceed out of thy mouth as we are the separated people. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, so if we memorize God’s word and fill our heart with that, naturally the mouth speaks His word alone. Though you buy a high-configured computer you do not have any facilities without installing any software in it. For each and every different programs we need to download some software, unless you run those softwares you will not get the particular facility in your computer. For example if you need to watch some live telecasts you have to download, install Adobe Flash Player, then only you could watch that, otherwise the view screen will be inactive.

 

Two chief Pastors went for a house visiting without any prior information to that family. The woman of that house had prepared nothing to give them. So she was making Kesari and these Pastors could whiff a good aroma of that fried cashew nuts in the ghee. She put that in two bowls and brought it to them. These two Pastors are sugar factories (highly diabetic). The 1st Pastor said, “See your enemy is coming” and the 2^nd one said, “Love your enemy”. Then the 1st one said, “In the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” and the 2^nd one said, ”if I perish, I perish” and ate the kesari. I am not advising the diabetic patients to eat sweets, it is wrong if you do not control yourselves. But see how much they treasured the word of God in their hearts.

 

One day my father was very upset because of a problem in the church. He went out and spoke to God, “God, You could talk to me, Give me a solution for this problem, otherwise I will not go back home.” And as he was praying a van passed by in front of him and behind that this verse was written, “Fear not I am with thee”. The moment he was very much convinced and came back home gladly and he never again went weary of any problem. Our heart should be filled with God’s word and the tongue should pronounce it always.  

 

Prayer: Teach me O Lord to hold my tongue to speak iniquity. Keep my tongue from evil, and my lips from speaking deceit. And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.

 

3. WORD THAT REFINES:

 

Until the time that His word came: the word of the LORD tried him. Psa105:19

 

How did the word of the Lord work in Joseph’s life? God has already promised him in the dream all about his blessings. Now he is in a pit, sold to the Midianites, brought down to Egypt as a slave to Potiphar, then he found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house and now found in the prison for his good behaviour as falsely blamed by Potiphar’s wife. Can you put yourself in his place and think for a minute? Would you not be upset, grumble, and loose your faith which God had promised you? But Joseph believed God and He was with Him Acts7:9. And God made him ruler all over Egypt. But until the word of the Lord came to fulfill the promises it tried him.

 

Are you asking God, “Why my life is still dark though I receive many promises from You God? Some diseases will get cured after reaching the saturated stage but after that you will have a complete deliverance but till then we go through that pain. And God says to you, “I send my word now and I am bringing an end to your darkness; your refining period is over as you have completely surrendered to me and decided to give up the things which I do not like”. God sends people to make you a royal path and brings you glad tidings. Just as God made Joseph ruler over all the possessions and He is faithful to make the upright shall have good things in possession.

 

Prayer: Lord, You know the way that I take: Help me Lord when you try me I should come forth as gold.  Let me not decline from Your ways and do not go back from the commandment of thy lips; I esteem the words of Your mouth more than my necessary food.

 

4. WORD THE LIGHT:

 

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psa119:105

 

Only when we go through darkness we know the excellence of light. May the Lord be your guide to make the next step in your life. Thou shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. I met a Godly man who was raised up from the dead. God had told him that His word should always surround him. So he made sure that he should read or listen to His words all the time. When he travels he used to listen to the audio Bible in his mobile.

 

So many people even older believers used to read “1000 Praises” once they woke up. They spent all their time in reading that praises and they are left out with no time to read the Bible. I am not against praising God, it is crucially important, but He wants you to meditate upon His word more than that. First listen to Him then you praise and speak to Him.

 

Prayer: Lord, I decide to habituate reading and meditating on your words. Help me to walk accordingly. Before I read thy word I decide not to do anything else.  I know Lord the only way to cleanse my way is by taking heed to thy word. Help me to be wise and guide my heart in thy way.

 

5. WORD THAT DWELLS:

 

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him. Col3:16,17

 

This is a spiritual doctrine. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. 1Cor3:16. And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Yes we are His people and our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in us, which we have of God, and we are not our own.

 

Prayer: Lord, I am purchased by You with a price, by Your own blood: therefore I glorify God in my body, and in my spirit, which are Yours God.

  

6. WORD THAT HEALS:

 

Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed. And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick. Lk7:7,10

 

His word went forth and healed everyone and even today His word heals many people. And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour. Mat8:13. God hears you in heaven your prayer and your supplication, and maintain your cause. If you return unto Him with all your heart, and with all your soul, and pray unto Him in this place then He will hear your prayer and supplication in heaven, and maintain your cause, and forgive you and have compassion on you: and heal you. For You are His people, and His inheritance. This place is filled with His glory so let us all pray this prayer now and be healed.

 

Prayer: Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for I am troubled. You have promised us that You will bring me health and cure, and You will cure me, and will reveal unto me the abundance of peace and truth. I believe when thy peace enter in me I am completely healed. Thank You Lord. Amen.
