THE WINGS OF GOD

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Ps91:4

The Lord covers us and hides us under His wings. It is like a mother rescuing a child from an accident by pulling it towards her hastily and holding it against her chest. As the Often He has longed to gather you together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but are you ready to come under His wings by completely surrendering yourself unto Him!

We should pray that the whole nation should be covered by His wings. There is a protest going on now for anti corruption in our country which seems to be a good one, and many supporters turned down immediately for Mr.Hazare’s fasting to work out a solution for this anti corruption. After 64 years of independence now this kind of protest is going on and this wouldn’t have happened without the will of God. And we should pray that God should give a peaceful and good solution for this anti corruption act and it should not lead to any bad riots.

Prayer: God, We pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Lord, let nothing happen in India against Your will. I as an individual cannot achieve anything except You will to change our India as an uncorrupted country. Heal this land Lord and bring a good solution for this anti-corruption act. We are under His wings, which covers us completely. The Lord is comparing His love, protection and care to the eagle’s.

1. Carrying wings:

Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself. Exo19:4

In the forty years of wilderness even their footwear were not worn out. He had literally carried them as we see their legs were not swollen. The eagle is a royal bird and it’s characteristic is completely a different from other birds, so that the Lord is comparing Himself to the wings of the eagle. The wings of a fully grown eagle have 7000 feathers, the length of its wing is around 8ft and it is much stronger than the wings of the aeroplane. It is an incomparable bird. God truly cares for you. Never ever think that you are alone in this world, God is always there with you. God says, I do not let you walk and hurt yourself, I will carry you and walk and I am going to lead you in the royal path.

Prayer: Lord, You hold me up, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto Your commandments continually.

2. Leading wings:

As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: Deu32:11

The Lord is waiting to take full control of us and lead us but we are not ready to surrender ourselves fully to Him, partial surrender is not welcome but a total surrender is what He expected. If you cannot surrender to Him He cannot do things for you. Always allow God to be the decision maker in any choice of your life.

A father came to me and told that he is looking for a bride groom for his daughter and when I asked for the resume he said “no, unless I talk to the boy’s father I am not going to proceed with anything”. And I have to know whether they are money minded then only I will give the resume.  I  asked him, “do you want God’s will to be done on your daughter’s life or yours?”

Once a youth went to Pr. Sundaram and told that he was looking for a girl to marry. He asked him about his expectations. The boy said “I have a tan colored skin so she should be little fair and I am working she should also work so that we can run the family nicely. Pr. Sundaram quietly listened to him and said, “ You told me many things but you forgot to ask about an important thing. He was excited and asked what is that I left? Pastor replied, “You forgot to say, I want a bride according to God’s will”. He alone can lead us and fulfill our desires. Then the boy came to sense and at once he said. “Yes Pastor, let it be done according to God’s will.”

Prayer: Lord, Guide me into your truth and teach me. For you are the God who delivers me; on You I rely all day long. Let Your will be done on me, my Lord.

3. Rewarding wings:

The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust. Rth2:12

God is able to give all the rewards we need and it will be a full reward. The jar of flour will never be empty and the jug of oil will never run out in your house, just as the Lord had promised. What are the things you expect for? Say for example, you are saving money to buy a thing you desire and before you buy that if somebody come and present you the same thing how happy you would be? God is doing that to you only on one condition “Surrender yourself to Him and come under His wings” and the Lord will fulfill all your desires.

Prayer: Lord, I trust in You and You are faithful to meet all my needs and I will praise You LORD for Your goodness, and for Your wonderful works to me. 

4. Protecting wings:

Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings, Ps17:8

It is the wing that covers, hides and protects us. Those who call upon Him and cry unto Him will never be put to shame. Pray to Me when you are in trouble! I will deliver you, and you will honor Me!”Ps50:15. Offer Him a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call upon His name and you will see wonders.

Prayer: Lord, When I call answer me speedily and protect me. Because You have inclined Your ear unto me, therefore will I call upon You as long as I live. I take refuge under your protecting wings.

5. Healing wings:

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. Mal4:2

As a precaution to protect ourselves from some sort of diseases we put vaccinations. For example we are advised to have tetanus injection for every 8 months, that is the power of the vaccination will be effective only for 8 months. But when you come under His wings you are permanently vaccinated from all kinds of diseases. Under His wings there is healing and strength and many blessings. Only those who fear His name could be seen under His wings. Always do a positive confession, make sure that no cursed diseases will come upon you and your family, as you are saved ones and as you have taken refuge under His wings. Curse all the diseases in the name of Jesus.

Only when sun shines the germs are killed, without the sun the whole world would be stinking. As the sun of righteousness shine upon you no diseases can come upon you. A person in our church used to write a prayer point and give it every week and as he was fed up of writing it he took 100 copies of that and put it in the offering box every week, just think of his belief and I think till he finish putting the 100 copies in the box his desire will not be fulfilled because that’s what his belief his. Because according to your faith will it be unto you. So always believe good things to come upon you.

Prayer: Lord, Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee. Sanctify me and strengthen me as I have made You  Lord as my refuge, even the most High, my habitation. Amen.
